Except KOTOR2 (excluding ending) and Fallout:NV were far better games than their predecessors despite their really short development time (Lucasarts actually made Obsidian release The Sith Lords basically a year early and forbade them from patching it properly) and NWN 2: Mask of the Betrayer is one of the best RPGs in recent memory.

Alpha Protocol was restarted at least twice by Sega for not being enough like Mass Effect, and at one time all payment to Obsidian for it simply stopped causing all production to grind to an absolute halt.

Titan Quest was amazing. It really is a pity that it didn't do as well as it deserved.
The guys who used to work at Iron Lore formed Crate Entertainment and are now working on a game called Grim Dawn.

It's the new pacman sans the arcade cabinet.
And that's as casual as you can get.
That's not a bad thing you know. It's a 99c time-waster that people play when they're sitting on the bus, and they liked it enough that it got merchandise. That's about it.

In the sketch next to the color picture for #1 at first glance it looks like Diablo invested in some huge pauldrons.
Wouldn't have surprised me, Blizzard loves their pauldrons.
