People say that if the ff series didn't change that people would get mad over it not being creative about future titles. Are u kidding me! Seriously the tales of series, star ocean series, and the persona series are using the same gameplay and they have never been criticized for it. What these game do that makes people love them over the years and keep coming back, is they make little changes to make it better. Even persona changed from 3 to 4 just by making the other party members playable and we still love them for it. So saying that isn't an excuse for it.
Plus jrpg characters should be a joy to be around and i never felt that way towards their characters, it was more of a chore listening to their conversations. I can't even remember any memorable scenes in the game.

I'm not sure about japan sales being low but what i do know is if the sales are low in the US it will be purely on low advertisement. Seriously when i talk to my friends or anyone and tell them i am getting a vita when it comes out the first thing they say is "what the heck is that".
I hope Sony takes this into account when they release this because i believe that could be its downfall here. Not to mention its only 1 month away from us and people still don't know. (My opinion)
