There's a reason Microsoft and Sony don't have a next generation console push yet, and it's in great part due to respect to their customers. With the amount of systems still being sold and the amount of quality support from all third parties, why rush something that nobody NEEDS yet? Nintendo isn't push forward the next generation of consoles, they are merely jumping from what could be deemed a half generation behind to a half generation ahead and will continue to survive/thrive off first party attachment. I'll obviously buy in, until the true next generation kicks in with Sony and MS.. Even if it means all that awful media support and accessible menus that we have to suffer through so everyone else can enjoy the perks of owning a console..
I find the hate for this game on message boards to be a little much.. Including the bonus character from the CE(which is incredibly hard to find today) as day one DLC was nice for me.. Saved me from having to really break my wallet on kijiji or eBay.. And the CE should include something like a unique character.. So who really loses here? The people complaining don't need to buy it.. The multiplayer makes getting a better ending more accessible to the casual player who doesnt want to follow every last quest line in the game, similar to Mass Effect 2 where you had to commit quite a bit of extra time to save your entire crew.. So to reiterate.. Bioware gives us more options for getting hard to obtain CE material.. And gives us another option for sending the trilogy off on a good note.. And this is.. A bad thing..?? The gameplay itself is improved.. I mean.. Basically everything is improved.. Why the hate?
It's 39.99 practical everywhere in Canada right now.. The 3 dollars a month and more stable service and functionality is easily worth it for me.. If it were a separate unit my PS3 wireless adapter would collect dust.. Alas, enjoy it while you can.. If you think Sony isn't monitoring the success of Xbox live than why do you think PS+ exists? Next generation Sony will go the same route as Microsoft.. They are missing out on a huge stream of revenue that could be used to combat microsofts early dlc.. And I don't blame them.. The financial upkeep of a dedicated gaming server the size of Xbox live is monumental.. The divide between consoles will never be as narrow as it will be next generation.. Most likely both will focus on digital game sales, non used sales, and paid online services.. Anyone who thinks Sony is going to suck up losses to make the classical gamer of yore happy is sorely mistaken.. The industry has evolved, if some consumers don't than it's there loss.. You're becoming what your parents always were.. lol such is the life cycle of technology...
FF hasn't become paint by numbers, it's newly retired fan base has.. The same ignorant people that shit on CoD and sports games for just re-skinning every year actually EXPECT square-enix to follow the same pattern..
