Final Fantasy XIII-2 review: Fixing the past
Jan 28th 2012 4:16PM (Joystiq)I actually liked the story of FFXIII, and especially the strong characters (for the most part).
I'm kinda bummed that you only have two party members and the third is replaced with some random monster that you couldn't care less about and doesn't factor into the story.
38 Studios head Curt Schilling elaborates on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning online pass quest lockout
Jan 28th 2012 3:01PM (Joystiq)When we buy the game, we have the choice to either buy it new, where we support the developer the most, or buying it used/pirating it, where the developer sees nothing. That's the choice we make.
The developer are just making the same choice. By purchasing it new, they are choosing to support us in giving us added content that is not core to the main game. By purchasing it used/pirating it, they are choosing not to support us (the same choice we made in doing so) and making us pay for that extra content.
It's a case of "If you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours," and I really don't see how that's unfair.
I don't really think it matters whether it's an actual download or an unlock, rather I think the determining factor should be whether or not it is a core aspect of the main game. In this case, a few extra quests in an already large game I wouldn't think amount to that. But when you look at RAGE, with its sewer entrances being blocked by nothing other than a "This can be unlocked by DLC" message - I would consider that part of the core experience - it's a built in aspect of the game.
Asura's Wrath launch trailer isn't all that crazy
Jan 23rd 2012 11:23PM (Joystiq)Yeah, I thought it felt like Fable also, but a bit faster paced. I liked it though. I had a lot of fun with the demo so I'm actually going to get the game when it comes out.
