Final Fantasy XIII-2 review: Fixing the past

Jan 28th 2012 4:16PM (Joystiq)
I wish there was more info on the actual story.

I actually liked the story of FFXIII, and especially the strong characters (for the most part).

I'm kinda bummed that you only have two party members and the third is replaced with some random monster that you couldn't care less about and doesn't factor into the story.

38 Studios head Curt Schilling elaborates on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning online pass quest lockout

This definitely won't endear me to anyone here, but I side with the developers/publishers on the issue. Hear me out...

When we buy the game, we have the choice to either buy it new, where we support the developer the most, or buying it used/pirating it, where the developer sees nothing. That's the choice we make.

The developer are just making the same choice. By purchasing it new, they are choosing to support us in giving us added content that is not core to the main game. By purchasing it used/pirating it, they are choosing not to support us (the same choice we made in doing so) and making us pay for that extra content.

It's a case of "If you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours," and I really don't see how that's unfair.

I don't really think it matters whether it's an actual download or an unlock, rather I think the determining factor should be whether or not it is a core aspect of the main game. In this case, a few extra quests in an already large game I wouldn't think amount to that. But when you look at RAGE, with its sewer entrances being blocked by nothing other than a "This can be unlocked by DLC" message - I would consider that part of the core experience - it's a built in aspect of the game.

Asura's Wrath launch trailer isn't all that crazy

Yeah, I thought it felt like Fable also, but a bit faster paced. I liked it though. I had a lot of fun with the demo so I'm actually going to get the game when it comes out.

I loved the craziness of the demo, but even after playing it I have no clue what to expect from the full game. I'm intrigued though...

@sonicspike41
I did not know they spaced their articles out like that, but I do now.

Sorry for being a jerkwad everyone. I wish I could go back and delete my comment...

@B0HICAH Well it stands to reason that if I sent them a tip, via that button on the top of the screen that says "Tip us", and then 45 minutes later the story I sent them shows up, it's probably safe to assume they saw it. Especially when that Bethesda Blog article has been up for a few hours now and only after sending my tip did they post the story.

Wow, I sent you guys the tip, then 45 minutes later it magically shows up on your site without even a mention of my site.

That's some classy journalism there...
