Mar 7th 2012 11:57PM (Joystiq)First off, how is that possible?
Secondly, and MUCH more importantly, these guys don't sell MP3 music. Whoever starts to build an audience will keep them so it'll be interesting to see if Valve gets more aggressive in keeping Steam running (which would account for the vast majority of it's value).
Maybe the console thing is for reals.....
The Schafer stigma: How his successful Kickstarter went to your head
Mar 1st 2012 11:09PM (Joystiq)I find the whole system really charming but worry about the same things others do. I wonder about the validity of these things in the long run because it's such an untrackable and unstable way to get an investment.
Like everyone else, I hope these guys reach their goal as I see kickstarter a perfect fit for them.

Mar 1st 2012 1:09PM (Joystiq)How one indie studio burns $15K per month (or: this graph looks like Pac-Man)
Mar 1st 2012 12:14AM (Joystiq)No offense but your comments aren't really all that relevant. No one on the planet could convince me you could effectively e-commute an entire studio and the success stories I've heard are either trumped up or led to failed products.
Otherwise, questioning whether his processes were poor on the cost/value ratio really don't go anywhere either nor is an anecdote of how you cheap you can make a protoype for someone, which is totally and wholly different than a product for mass consumption let alone an irrelevant comparison for other reasons.
I dig that you want to protect Kickstarter but the criticizing the company's burn rate isn't really going to help.
If I'm mistaken and they really think cutting basecamp and not seeing each other will give them more dev time than they lose in productivity not being near each other than I'd love to hear it.

Feb 19th 2012 6:01PM (Joystiq)My thought exactly. It would be such a huge, HUGE endeavor to even make a competant port with multiplayer that I highly doubt to see anything really amazing. Activision wouldn't be motiviated for that level of development and I doubt Sony would pony up the 50 million to make it.
If they could port MW3 to the device though for cross play or even create some lite version of the COD experience I promise you they will sell a million units.
