@Howard Roark i hope you plan on getting xenoblade, i feel that xenoblade has something for both western gamers who simply want gameplay and questing and western gamers who play for the story.

@ToastyBiggins please play a tales game please please please. one of the best things about the bad guys in "tales" is that they are not "evil" they have their own reasons and motives as to what they do. the character costume in those games rant too bad at least not one you would think of as a stripper. they do get annoying at time but by the end of the game you will love them. the tales games is less about the actual conflict and more about the characters and how it affects them, and the motivations of the "bad guy".

@nacrom why yes! yes i do have you ever played xenosaga? xenogears? xenoblade? huh? ANY HREAKING "TALES" GAME why can't someone use a medium that has the potential to tall a story that ABSOLUTLY CANNOT BE PRESENTED IN ANY OTHER WAY OR IT WOULD LOOSE MOST OF NOT ALL ITS POTENTIAL IMPACT!!!!!! i can't play a game and mind numbingly kill things if i wanted that i would play like angry birds on my moms smart phone for free instead of shelling out 60+ dollar on collectors edition with music CD tee-shirt art book director commentary figurine collection special preorder only skimpy costume for my female characters monster plushy special controller special game console extended director's cut (with 90 extra minutes of cut scenes =3) i go crazy over all of this BECAUSE the story is worth it BECAUSE it delivers something that only video games can do. if you really feel that way about video games please please stop play them your only wasting your time and DONT CALL YOUR SELF A GAMER!!!!!!!! i hate it when people who only play games like COD or skip through the story just to kill things call themselves "gamers" a gamer has appreciation for almost everything you do not. I'm not trying to say the you need to play JRPG's but stories have a place in gaming for a reason.

@EIranzer yeah my biggest problem with 12 was mostly the gameplay but honestly i kinda wish Vaan had more impact he IS the main character it seemed like after he was introduced he seemed to take a back seat within the story and wasn't doing anything other than just accompanying everybody else. granted i think his biggest contribution to the story is the fact that he was the catalyst for everything that happens there after he was initially introduced. i also kinda wished the balancing was better sometimes a boss would be too hard for an area forcing me to spend endless amounts of of time grinding, and i the gameplay bored me as well at least with turn based or ATB i could think of a strategy and win but when i played 12 i just hit most of my enemies with the pointy thing and called it good no real strategy not even back attack do anything.

@D4rk 0p3rative tales.... *drools* tales has everything you would ever want in a JRPG awesome narrative and an amazing combat system to boot. also the characters may start off as cliche's like moe moe kawaii or super emo like cloud but part the the way the story is structured is that the characters change over the course of the journey . and each character has a character ark that explores more into them and helps flesh them out more.

@Vegeta has a ps3 please play a tales game actually tales of the abyss it steered clear of most JRPG stereotypes and it also followed other like a religion (and that is what the game is about XP religion) the main character may start of as an annoying ass hole but it'll change by the end oh it'll change. when it comes to over all narrative and gameplay tales is my favorite it may be cliche at times and it has a formula in story structure that it follows religiously but that is part of what makes it good. also it has a really wicked real time combat , if you at least have an appreciation for arcade fighter style games then tales is epic.
