Capcom lays out Street Fighter X Tekken DLC schedule and pricing

Mar 18th 2012 5:32PM (Joystiq)
@Nergy My comment was in relation to people who feel entitled to own more than they paid for and are complaining that what was obviously (key word) not part of the original business transaction should be given to them freely just because of how their original product was packaged, so I think my analogy stands.

Your house with boarded rooms is missing two very key points - that said rooms are actually unfinished (people seem to forget that the content isn't even close to being 100% completed, so you have a couple of walls with no roof) and that they are hidden, (hence the key point above) The only way you found out about your "rooms" is because someone busted down a bunch of your walls and found them for you. Your contract would've specifically stated how many rooms your house came with and they certainly wouldn't have left rooms unfinished if that was part of the original agreement, which it wasn't. I.E. You got what you paid for.

The problem in a nutshell is that many people are confusing SFxT the physical disc with SFxT the IP or intellectual property. Look on the back of your game case. Does it mention anywhere that you were buying more than what was advertised, including unfinished content? No. You were paying for what was advertised, and when you gave the store clerk your money, you were agreeing that for $60, you got exactly what was offered on the back of the case. Now, if Capcom was selling "SFxT The Mystery Grab Bag Disc - where for $60, you can have access to everything that's on the disc including unfinished content", then people (and your counter above) would rightfully have a legitimate argument because although they were told that they had complete access to all content for $60, Capcom is now making them pay more for something they already and legally paid for. That's the difference.

You guys bought SFxT, not SFxT plus all Vita content. You got what you paid for. Complaining about the extra content not being yours is like buying a house and arguing that the open house furniture should be yours too cuz it was "in your house" when you bought it. Nitpick the details of the analogy but it's basically the same thing.

Capcom: Street Fighter X Tekken DLC on-disc to ensure compatibility

Bottom line - were u going to buy the DLC in the first place? If you said yes, then where it comes from is irrelevant. Would u honestly feel better if u downloaded it rather than unlocked it? And if you said no, then this article really doesn't affect u. I know we all like to cry foul over what we perceive as being butt hurt, but srsly paying for new characters is nothing new these days for most companies. I think atm namco and snk are exempt from that last comment.
