Mass Effect 3 player feedback spawns 'content initiatives,' details in April

@EffinNinja
I'm totally with you there, that's exactly how I feel about the ending too.

I don't believe for one second that Joker would abandon his commander like that. He stayed with him through hell and high water through the first two games, and suddenly we are to believe that he will flee at the most critical moment of Shepard's quest?

I'll be happy if the only change they made to the ending was that Shepard's squad fight to the bitter end for him in London, where they were supposed to be until they magically teleported onto the Normandy during the ending cutscene.

Have Garrus, or your love interest give a moving eulogy if Shepard sacrificed him/herself, and have them pull him/her out of the rubble like they did at the end of ME1 if you survived. These are supposed to be your best friends, it is simply not in character for them to abandon you at such a pivotal moment.

A small change to the ending cutscene like that already does wonders for the closure that many people are missing from the ending.

I'll try to be as civil as possible here, but since you did mention you haven't played the game, I'm going to say that I feel you don't quite understand the problem here.

The reason the ending was so poorly received is not simply because people didn't get the ending they wanted. It may be true for some, but I guarantee you it is not for others.

The ending quite simply contains some serious logical flaws. It has major characters acting completely out of character from themselves, and appearing in places they cannot plausibly have been at based on where they were shown in the game mere minutes earlier.

Some of these issues could have even been addressed with some amendments or additions to the ending cutscene, but were not.

Personally, I respect Bioware's artistic intent enough to not enter the debate about lack of choices, use of deus ex machina, etc. But it bugs me to no end to see the blatant lack of polish and logical consistency in the ending. Which is a shame because the rest of the game was indeed excellent. But I believe it is a fixable problem without compromising too much of their artistic integrity.

So I'm glad they listened to the fans on that end, though I absolute do not condone any more extreme actions (verbal abuse, mail spamming, etc.) against them. I'll be waiting to see how they address the situation.
