Thanks for the numbers. If anything, this shows 2 things. It shows that the japanese are willing to buy the 360. It also shows it needs games.

If MS has any sense at all they will start courting Japanese game studios even harder (and give sakaguchi whatever he wants).

You must not read this blog very much if you still think that way. The 360 is in some ways MORE advanced than the ps3. The GPU kicks the RSX's ass.

The ps2's continued good performance shows that even overwhelming hardware superiority doesn't guarantee success. What does is masses of exlcusive games and the ability to appeal to the mass market.

Well guess which console is getting all the exclusives? And guess which one is closer to reaching a mass market price point? That would be the 360.

Oh no! Future generation consoles will have to motion sense without using a combination of the eyetoy and a censor bar.

Who honestly WANTS games that are controlled this way? Not me. So thank sony, for helping MS and nintendo avoid a pitfall.

For the next gen all I want is controllers like the wiimote but with analog sticks and 4 face buttons each. (and each units it wireless, or course.)

I'm not that big a fan of Moore. Almost everything he says abot 360 he said about the dreamcast (and that's not an xcast comment. I'm just saying that I've heard all his stuff before).

That said, as execs go, he is certainly the most charismatic. You don't mind listening to him talk, even if you know he is bullshitting you. He's kindof like the bizarro world version of phil harrison.

This game alone won't crack japan, but the fact that so many people are willing to buy the 360 just for this game indicates that there is a future for the 360 in japan, as long as ms can pump out the rpgs. And guess what game type MS has 7 of next year?

And BTW retard, it IS a good game. Famitsu gave it a 37/40. That is excellent.

That's highly misleading. The 360 is getting Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon (and a sequel after that), Cry on, Eternal Sonata. And those are just the ones coming out 2007. We already have enchant arm and Oblivion.

The 360 is gonna be a pretty damn good rpg machine. Currently has more rpgs coming this next year than the ps3.

That qualifies as a multi snap.

What were you smoking? The gamecube had many games that showed how good its graphics were. Rogue Leader is a great example. Metroid Prime. Zelda (both of them). Metal Gear. Melee.

Hell, Luigi's mansion has more rounded shapes and better lighting effects than you would ever see on a ps2 game. RE4 is an excellent example. The realtime cinematics in the cube version were used as FMV in te ps2 version because the cube was capable of so much more.

What the hell are you talking about? What does the ps2 being popular have to do with the relative power of the current systems?

When the xbox and cube came out, there was an immediate difference in their graphical abilities. No one cried that they needed a year to understand the ahrdware, because it wasn't needed. If you want to launch later, with more powerful hardware, it means you don't get to take your time. You have to hit the ground running. The ps3 has not done this. For how long did we all have to endure the fanboy rantings of how the 360 wasn't truly next gen? For how long did we hear that the 360 was only xbox 1.5? Well news flash, the PS3 at this point would have to IMPROVE just to be EQUAL inperformance to the 360.

The ps3 is supposed to be more powerful. It launched later, and costs nearly %50 more. There is no gaddomaned reason on this planet that their games should not be better than the 360s. No reason at all. To say different is to be making excuses.

And here is the real kicker: Not only is the ps3 not surpassing the 360, it isn't matching the 360. And considering how many advantagess it had, this is inexcuseable. End of story.
