Metareview: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Reflex

Nov 12th 2009 9:59PM (Joystiq)
I don't get it. Everyone who wants to has already played Modern Warfare, right?

Modern Warfare 2 is out. Is anybody going to want to play the first one again, even if it's possible the controls are the best thing ever?

This doesn't make sense. Now maybe if this were a version of Modern Warfare 2 for the wii...

This looks like great fun.

Once I get it, this disc will probably stay in my Wii for awhile while I explore every nook and cranny of the island.

"Despite the similarities, the game is actually quite fun to play"

Ha! As if a well done Quidditch game wouldn't be entirely awesome.

You forgot Wii Sports: Resort. That title alone could keep sales going.

High Voltage announces another new Wii game: 'The Grinder'

May 27th 2009 10:13AM (Joystiq)
Saying that The Conduit and these other games would be all but ignored on the HD console is ignoring a basic fact: these games are being designed from the ground up for the Wii. They're being designed with a pointing, slashing, and generally more physical interface than any game for one of the HD consoles.

If you take away the interface and replace it with buttons, the game becomes generic. It would sort of be like designing a game for the PS3 and then taking away the HD graphics. The game would become generic.

Not my kind of game, but I'm glad to see that somebody is developing new original games from the ground up specifically to take advantage of everything the Wii can do.

High Voltage announces another new Wii game: 'The Grinder'

Ok, so there seems to be a crowd of gamers who love games like this, yet all other game developers are assuming that said crowd only owns HD consoles.

High Voltage is assuming that gamers who like games like this (who have probably already played Left 4 Dead, Half-Life, Halo, Call of Duty, etc.) also own a Wii. Not only do they also own a Wii, but since they like games like this, they'll like another one, especially if it offers a bit of a different experience with the remote.

Seems like a safe assumption, does it not?
