The reason Microsoft is not integrating an HD DVD player with the XBOX is because it knows (rightly) that the future of digital entertainment is direct downloads to a hard drive. With the sucess of systems such as Steam, investing millions into an HD optical format would be short-sighted.

The only reason MS is courting HD-DVD in the first place is to slow the sucess of Blu-Ray to allow R&D progression on a digital distribution model.

In laymans terms: You will be paying for a download of Halo 4 rather than buying it on a disc.

I loved Renegade! I bought it again recently and I still love playing it. It runs well on my crappy old laptop aswell. Sure, it's a bit basic by todays standards, but at the time it was a solid game.

I'm really looking forward to the release of MGS4 now. That is beeing posted as the PS3's system seller (I know I'm going to buy one to play it) and I would really like to see the sales pattern and console sell-through that it brings Sony. It might be interesting to compare the two.

I come on a Halo post on xbox360 fanboy to see what people have written about the topic at hand, and what do i see? Someone whining about posts about halo 3, what a surprise.

Not everybody is going to like everything.
I'm pretty sure you'll find people out there that will hate on Half Life and Kotor. I know a guy who never played Half Life 1 because he got bored on the tram ride at the start.

Halo fanbois really need to shut the fuck up about the game. It's out, it's been played to death, it's a really awesome game and multiplayer will last the way it has till Gears 2. Similarly, Halo haters really REALLY need to shut the fuck up about the game. If you don't like it, move on. There are plenty more games out there. If you are insistant on getting your negative views out there, become a journalist or write a review for a website or something, otherwise you are just attention whoreing.

You lack a view on the larger picture. Publishers, although they don't construct games directly, CAN and DO walk into their dev's offices, take a look at something and say "no, we don't like that, change it. You don't like that idea? Fine, we'll can your project or fire you".

BioWare will be pandering to EA's nice, safe, statistical demographic studies and profit/loss charts rather than beeing creative and original.
