Scattered Shots: Pets for leveling from 80 to 85

Nov 22nd 2010 6:13PM (WoW)
I am going to attempt to level all my pets as I go. Every time I am near a stable master I will swap out any max level pets for other ones because they level up so quick, but I will do it so I'm hopefully never rolling with a pet thats more than 1 level below me.

Doing this rotation for 10 or so pets may be more realistic, I will have to see how things go. But I kind of want to avoid having to grind out like 30 or 40 pet levels when I hit 85 so I can have buffs covered etc. Something tells me leveling won't be as easy as it is now where you can one-shot equal level mobs and level a new pet from 77-80 in about 15 minutes.

Steelseries announces Cataclysm MMO gaming mouse

Oct 16th 2010 10:38PM (WoW)
I guess I am the only one who likes the steelseries wow mouse. The build quality isn't the greatest but I've been using it for well over a year and it still works fine. My favorite thing about it is the two extra buttons that are on the left and right of the mouse wheel. I know of no other mouse with these and I can't live without them anymore. I do have massive hands too so I like that its a behemoth of a mouse.

So yeah I am looking forward to trying this new one.

Scattered Shots: Grandpappy Frostheim on mana

Aug 30th 2010 8:59PM (WoW)
Fun article, and a nice nostalgic trip down memory lane. WoW was a different game back then. I liked it. I like current WoW too for different reasons. I hope Cata brings it closer to letting me have both. To date my favorite times in the game were doing ZG in my 20 man raiding guild. It was nice when you could spend time on positioning or doing some other task like saving a healer's life or kiting some mob that got loose and not be totally upset over how you just plummeted 6 spots on the meter for doing something other than tunnel vision GCD-capped mindless rotations. Your overall contribution was more than just numbers.

BlizzCon 2010 virtual ticket on sale

Hopefully they fix the issues from last year (some things like the opening ceremony were completely unwatchable... buffering...buffering...buffering...buffering....). The fact that they say the opening ceremony will be free to watch regardless if you pay or not doesn't give me much hope.

A stream for each stage is fantastic though.

The Queue: He's back and he's awesome

I know that current heirlooms won't scale beyond level 80 for stats, but will the XP bonuses on them work for leveling from 80-85?

Scattered Shots: Pistols for hunters?

Jun 10th 2010 6:04PM (WoW)
Better yet they could rework an entire talent tree to be pistol-focused.

Marksman could focus on long range damage, and Survival could focus on short range damage.

Our melee slot could turn into a libram/totem type slot as others have mentioned, and we get the pistol upgrades from emblem vendors. The pistols damage would be based off our main ranged weapon DPS so still we are only worrying about 1 type of weapon drop. It would basically be a stat stick that enables pistol shooting using the same damage as your normal ranged weapon, but depending on your spec you won't be able to do full damage at both close and long range. There has to be a trade off, whether you pick short or long in your talents.

Breakfast Topic: Banging our heads against the wall

May 14th 2010 8:19AM (WoW)
It may seem like a brick wall but you are progressing and once you get over that big hurdle it all falls into place and the effort pays off.

Case in point - my guild spent many weeks wiping on 25 man Lich King... after we downed him 2 weeks later we started to be able to one-shot him.
