Bizarre confirms PGR4's cities, comments on DVD constraints

If only there was some sort of larger storage medium, but it's a good thing all of us here on Joystiq are against that type of crazy talk.

Sony marketers are horrible liars, pretend to run fansite

Dec 11th 2006 7:46PM (Joystiq)
Was this (Sony's) PSP video in response to (Microsoft's) XBOX360- Sexyback video. Because, this one takes the cake for lameness.

Also, I think this post should link the Sexyback video, you know, just to show that Sony isn't alone in the lame-fake advert bid.

Today's hottest game video: SMB3 in Lego

Dec 10th 2006 7:23PM (Joystiq)
Well this post is somewhat awkward, pushing a great new Sony FF video aside to showcase a fake video for Nintendo.

Anyhow, this post should be updated to show that the Mario video was rendered using computer software.

Also, im not completely sure if that FF video is pre-rendered. When I watch the video, the v-sync goes off a few times in some of the more intricate frames, which usually happens on live renderd footage, odd for a pre-rendered video to chop up like that, seeing as it would usually be rendered smoothly beforehand regardless of how high the polycount gets or depth of the effects.

NES gamepad controls espresso machine

I onced used a NES controller to control my NES. I don't know what I was thinking, that's way out of fashion these days.

The browser version is just a 2 level flash-based demo. Even the demo with the dumbed down graphics is great fun. This is one simple game that im actually really looking forward to.

Today's hottest game video: PSP 'dual-analog' mod

Dec 2nd 2006 12:32AM (Joystiq)
Actually, the right analog mod is mimicing the stock left analog, and the left analog mod is mimicing the digital face buttons. Also... since the left analog mod is mimicing the digital face buttons, there is no variable input, since the digital face buttons were not pressure sensitive. Ah well, still a cool mod. It's sad the PSP was just never designed with 2 analogs in the first place. Would've been great for FPS's.

DevHook returns, now emulating 2.82 on 1.50 PSPs

That's pretty slick. If I had known this was in the makes earlier, I wouldn't have already updated.

EA's Larry Probst on Wii and PSP development

I totally agree with you. I myself have also bought an HDTV and surround sound. I bought it for both home movie experiences, and for HD gaming. I really think HD gaming and gaming on the Wii are two different things. I also am somewhat tired of hearing the "some of us aren't made of money" and "HDTV's aren't that popular yet". The thing is, they're very popular, they're a huge buzz about HDTV currently, and the more support it gets, the bigger the buzz. With HD broadcasts, HD movies, and HD consoles, the urge to get a HD set is growing. The world is switching to HD, and many have already started, otherwise the HD products wouldn't be coming out. You're not fully justifying the purchase of an Xbox360 or a PS3 if you have no plans for a HD + Surround sounds for the near future. =)
