European gamers forced to wait before Questing for Barbaros' Treasure

Nov 6th 2007 10:15AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Looks like i won't be getting any Wii games for xmas.

Even more reason to buy myself a PS3 now, the Wii is on a slippery slope in Europe. Selling mine after Galaxy and buying a Wii Lite next year when the games finally hit.

Surf's Up had better use the Wiimote as a surfboard

Here's hoping it comes with a special strap to your hand so you wear the wiimote like a surf board with your fingers as feet!!

Wii modchips hit a snag, won't work with some recent Wiis

I really hope Nintendo just lets it go. They should just let people MOD the consoles and use pirate games.

Then in a month or two release an update that turns the console into a brick if it's chipped.

Nintendo not planning on addressing Mario Kart 64 ghost data issue

Feb 1st 2007 12:10PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Oh come on it's not rocket science...

Either the games don't need any work at all and they just drop the ROMS (with some security tweaking) onto the servers and the emulator works. In which case we accept things don't emulate that well but we expect the releases to be a hell of a lot quicker!

Or they actually have to tweak the code to get it to work through the virtual console for all the games. In which case the code is old enough and on a system they should understand inside and out. So why can't they fix or even rewrite it.

The answer is simple, they make money for doing very little with the VC games. Time invested in this wouldn't make them much more money. It's both lazyness and business sense.

Is your touch-screen yellow?

Jan 19th 2007 11:44AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I have to say i'm shocked so few people knew about this...

The reason is because there are more than one touch screen type out there. I forget the full details but i recall alongside the yellow tint on one type, one type has little tiny dots in a grid over the screen.

The yellow tint is very suttle and only when both screens are white can you really tell. If yours is noticeable elsewhere then it's probably a fault.

1 game every 6 months and it's played for 130 hours? WoW clearly screwed up the figures!

What do you get when you combine 2 Wii consoles, 2 AV connections and 1 TV?

You can see them swap the AV channel.
