PSP caused teen to shoot another teen

Jul 5th 2008 2:01PM (Joystiq Playstation)
"PSP caused teen to shoot another teen"

Really, Alan Tsang? Really?

Don't you think video games have enough of a PR problem in the media what with people like Jack Thompson and Hillary Clinton? Whatever was going on between those kids I can pretty much guarantee that an inanimate object was not the sole reason one of them shot the other.

Your headline is disingenuous at best and I am saddened to see that it was apparently not questioned at any point during the editing process.

Today's Segway one-upping video: Personal Yoshi

Nov 14th 2007 3:51AM (Joystiq)
I guess by not loving this I am in the minority... It would have been funnier if the Yoshi guy wasn't as much of an asshole as the Segway guy. Although it is still funnier than 99% of the crap on collegehumor.com.

Downstream Panic! looks hopeful

Well, I don't know about the gameplay, but the art style looks to be very ripped off f- er, "inspired by" Loco Roco. Time will tell, I guess.

Way to go, thieves. Way to go.

PS Network to become "feeder" of PSP games

Aug 24th 2007 10:25PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I agree 100% with pixelator. However, this will ONLY work when Sony makes it available to the millions of PSP owners who do not have PS3s. This forced, unnecessary limitation will kill the Playstation Network before it is even born.

Worms Open Warfare 2 downloadable demo

Aug 19th 2007 1:39PM (Joystiq Playstation)
First, let me preface this by saying that I absolutely love the Worms series of games and have been eagerly awaiting the release of Worms: Open Warfare 2.

This demo, however, is a mixed bag. The graphics, sound effects and control are all very good, although the pixelated ships in the background are a bit distracting. My major qualm is with the level we are presented with. It is - to use the common phrase - fucking terrible. The layout is awful, and the limited number of available weapons means that the player will be wasting many turns unable to attack or even move more than a few steps.

I can only hope that the rest of the levels are not designed so poorly. On the other hand, if this is the worst level, why did anyone think it would be a good idea to use it for the demo?

I am now slightly apprehensive about the game's forthcoming release.

Calling All Cars coming to PSP

Aug 16th 2007 11:14AM (Joystiq Playstation)
This is good news and all, but it basically amounts to one step forward and two steps back. Sony needs to get their act together in regards to online. At this point Microsoft and the 360 are basically synonymous with online gaming and the longer Sony delays the harder it will be for them to get a piece of that pie. They have an amazing opportunity with the PSP to deliver unique downloadable content and they are squandering it with this totally unnecessary PS3 connectivity.

As a PSP owner, this saddens and frustrates me. Sony needs to realize that their current model of content delivery is broken, and they need to FIX IT.

That looks fantastic. It appears to have the spirit of the original. I can't wait!

M33 believes Sony will make the "ideal firmware"

Aug 7th 2007 9:35PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Couldn't have said it better myself. If Sony were to release an official firmware that supported legal homebrew apps, then only pirates would be attempting to hack their software (and break the law).

I support homebrew, not piracy.
