Off the Grid reviews Chrononauts

I'm getting pretty sick of seeing all these Looney Labs and Cheapass Games reviews. Scott's not doing my hobby any justice. When are we going to see some Citadels? Or Alhambra? Or Power Grid?

Metareview - Zelda: Twilight Princess (GameCube)

Dec 20th 2006 10:21PM (Joystiq)
I think I've read before that Gamespot often reviews games based on the console it is on and thus the competition it is up against. For instance, a game ported to all the major consoles will get different ratings based on the console - a FPS on XBox 360 has a lot of competition and should be given a score that represents how good it is for someone who owns that console.

So, they can say that the Wii version is slightly better while still giving it a lower score because it's not really in direct competition with the GC version. As a "next-gen" game, TP isn't all that one should expect, but for a game on a last-gen system, it's very good.

What really bothers me is how 1up says "Frankly, going from the Wii interface to the GameCube feels like a step backward; it's less immersive, less precise and considerably slower" and yet still gives the game 100/100. That very statement says that, even without direct comparison, the GC game is lacking slightly in immersion and precision.

Canadians add extra bling to their DS

Hi Joystiq. Long time reader, first time poster.

I've seen the advert, and I don't plan on buying one. I guess the gold might go well the the Onyx DS, but it doesn't seem like it would go well with white or pink.

I wouldn't be suprised if you Yanks see these show up in Best Buy soon if they sell well; Future Shop was bought out by Best Buy a few years ago.
