I was very skeptical when the game came out, but it is *definitely* worth the 800 points. I would never have believed anyone could make a Pac-Man game that was fresh, original, and fun, and yet it's all of those. Great game and well worth the price.
Excellent article! I was in 8th grade in 1982 when I finally broke the million point mark in Pac-Man... and then I pretty much stopped playing until I bought the XBLA version last year. You are absolutely right -- Pac-Man is a cultural icon, and while it wasn't the first videogame I played, it was the one that got me to really love them.
Add me to the list of people who don't see why anyone is upset about this. No one's being forced to buy this stuff. If Brady Games wants to sell it and someone wants to buy it, why should anyone else care? *shrug*
Normally I think Joystiq is right on the money. But this time they are clearly playing a different game than the Assault Heroes I've been playing. Like another commenter said, you guys are overanalyzing one of the greatest Xbox Live Arcade games so far. This was the best $10 I've spent on a game ever.
