Geometry wars is definately overated in my opinion (yes, i have played it - for a pretty decent amount of time). Marble Blast Ultra is where its at.

I prefer no HUD, but I think that in games like metroid where the HUD is something that the character would be seeing then it is good. While playing Kong I felt that the lack of HUD made it feel more realistic (good point about immersive vs. realistic btw), and I loved it. This is all stuff that people have said before, but thought I'd throw my opinion in just to give votes to the no HUD preference (unless, of course in the case of games like metroid).

By far the most fun XBLA game so far.
