I think it's GOOD that a player who wasn't very active with Starcraft 1 played for Joystiq. You can go to nearly any other gaming site that attended Blizzcon and they have reviews that sound similar from what appear to be seasoned players. This particular review is unique in that it shows us that players who didn't get hooked on number one can STILL enjoy Starcraft 2. It's GOOD news, people. GOOD news.

Though, I am very jealous, as well.

I highly doubt they'd let the kid get away with a crime. The difference between this and the way you're thinking things could happen, is--this isn't harming anyone. It made the kid content with his life--at least for now, without harming anybody, and everyone involved was more than happy to give the sick kid some peace of mind.

If Jack Thompson, or anybody else for that matter, brings up a negative view of this and uses it in their "crusade" against gamers, then they'll just be destroying themselves. No doubt you saw how people reacted when Jack immediately blamed video games for the Virginia Tech crisis. If Jack says anything, he'll just be hurting himself, not us gamers.

I see your point in your argument, but I wouldn't be afraid of things having a negative impact. If anything, it shows a developer of the gaming industry having compassion for a kid rather than corrupting him.

I agree, that's what I was thinking when I read some of these comments, haha. I just spent 8 hours downloading/updating/downloading some more to get into the game and it just wasn't worth it, unfortunately. Too bad, too.

This is actually fact. I've been keeping up with the site. He confirmed it a few years ago.

Try to keep an open mind about these things.

I downloaded it a while back. I also got Zelda (but the quality isn't so good).

But my favorite? Pac-Man's "Wakka-wakka-wakka"!
