How many games, short on attention and perhaps quality, have busted out the "OMG MILLION DOLLARS" card? Okay, now how many times have those contests actually paid anybody?

The reason they sold Dawn of Souls as 1 and 2 packaged was because they were straight ports of the Wonderswan games, there wasn't very much new. With the PSP games they completely redid the graphics and music, which actually costs money to do. It's reasonable to me to sell them separately at that point.

I'm well on my way to my 5th 360. Two for over heating, one brand new console with a defective harddrive, now disc scratching. I've bought every console since the N64 on launch and the only thing close to an issue I've had is my PS2 stopped rumbling after a few years (preparation for PS3?). After the 2nd died I sold it and considered giving up on the 360 but Trusty Bell and Blue Dragon reeled me back in. By now though I'm really thinking it's not worth it.

That actually sounds really reasonable to me. These are gonna be fairly large, farily intricate specialty controllers. I just assumed it went without saying that they're gonna be expensive. Except maybe for the microphone, that seems likely to come down.

The game was broken in the arcade, this is the only thing that fixes it. Gauntlet is fun for running around killing stuff with a friend, but it is the absolute most blatant money sink in a game ever. Your character is constantly dying, so even if you're the greatest gamer ever, you're gonna have to pump more money into it sooner or later. In the arcade you played till you didn't feel like wasting another quarter. With freeplay you can actually play for the amount you'd like, without anything else competing for your quarter. You know, the very reason we don't have arcades anymore.

My uncle has a pinball machine, I'm fairly willing to bet he won't say the reason he bought it is cause he just loved putting quarters into other machines. If I had to pay ANY amount of money per play for a console title today I would absolutely refuse, and I imagine nearly everybody else would. Money shouldn't be an attack in any game, which, in your suggestion, it would be.

Right now I use "Lonely Rolling Star" from Katamari Damashii.
