HOWTO: Another way to find EMI songs on your computer

Apr 10th 2007 3:20PM (TUAW.com)
Thanks for the tip! I actually had some tracks from EMI :)

Graphical software licenses: a good idea?

Apr 9th 2007 7:12AM (TUAW.com)
I like the idea, but as you said, they should combine it with the old serial number scheme. Use both I say. Also, it should be possible to just double-click the license file, not having do drag and drop it on the right app.

New Brothers in Arms shots

Wow, I didn't know DS games could look this good! Any PSP owner would likely just laugh at this comment, but still...

Will iTunes truly support interoperability?

Apr 3rd 2007 5:03PM (TUAW.com)
I agree with Joshua, Apple makes money on the iPod, not the iTS. I think they would rather you buy your music elsewhere, than buying another player for use with the iTS.

Sure you can technically play iTS non-DRM files on a Zune, but those are not the people that Apple are trying to please with this recent development. And don't forget: EMI approached Apple with this - not the other way around.

logKext keylogger

Mar 30th 2007 8:53AM (TUAW.com)
I don't think a key logger is the solution here. As you pointed out, a desktop blogging client would be a good solution, another solution would be a browser that is less prone to crashing.

If she is running Firefox, you can install a Greasemonket script that will automatically save the contents of all form elements, should the browser crash, or the page reload for whatever reason. Textarea Backup script: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/7671

Found Footage: Steve introduces the iRack

Mar 14th 2007 5:37PM (TUAW.com)
I actually liked this. I've seen a lot of hate-comments since it aired, and I guess I found the last one they did (the iPhone) a bit more funny, but for political satire, this one really isn't all that bad.

DS Daily: Making a list

Mar 14th 2007 9:26AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The (short but good) list so far:
- New Super Mario Bros
- Mario Kart
- Diddy Kong Racing
- Feel the Magic: XY/XX / Project Rub
- Trace Memory / Another Code
- Hotel Dusk

MPEG Streamclip: complete video encoding software

Feb 9th 2007 3:50AM (TUAW.com)
I'm with the guy who said it was great for prosessing stuff from the TiVo. I personally own a KiSS Media Player, but the basic use is the same. Transfer content to the Mac, cut out some commercials, and then save as a QuickTime file with de-interlacing. It does this job very well.
