Ugh. I know they built the engine already and they're all about this new super-cute 3D anime look, but it's making me kinda sick. Where's the dynamic color from 1-6? The personality in each character's design? If you really want to go back to basics, go back to something that doesn't look like ass.

There's a difference between getting fired and getting laid off. In a bad economy, it's typically the latter. These people are provided with severance packages to help with the transition, and usually positive references when they look for another job.

I manage people. If I had to lay someone off, and they wanted to hurt the company (and by extension, the rest of their co-workers who are still around) as they go, you can be assured I would not be helping them in the slightest. It's called "burning bridges" for a reason.

Well of course he is. He worked at Microsoft for years. And you don't see Naughty Dog specifically calling out the 360 as an inferior console.

Adding Sierra to GoG has been like a godsend for me.

I also love how these threads only get a handful of comments. Makes me feel like I'm part of a niche group. Hey kids, there were some great games on the PC in the 90s that didn't start with Doom, Quake, or Duke Nukem.

I think it has less to do with party affiliation and more to do where someone stands socially on the political spectrum. The movement against video games is typically thought of as led by "Social Conservatives", people who think government should enforce traditional behaviors and values. "Social Liberals" typically prefer a hands off approach, people can take care of themselves and what they do is none of my business.

Lots of Democrats and Republicans mix and match. There are Republicans are Social Liberals (Bob Barr), and Democrats that are Social Conservatives (Hillary).

So yes, not the Republicans fault, but typically a movement associated with Conservatism.

Picking Gabriel Knight as the first release has to be symbolic. It's probably the best written Sierra adventure game of all time. They're even including the talkie-CD version with Tim Curry.

This brings back so many memories of playing this game Sundays in my Dad's office on one of those new fangled CD-Roms.
