December NPD: hardware sales push industry to new heights
Jan 11th 2007 10:38PM (Joystiq)As far as Twilight Princess is concerned, I played the Wii version for about an hour or so on a friends console, and while I was really suprised at how Link handled and such, I didn't quite get the satisfying feeling of his sword action by merely waving the remote. I purchased the GC version, and I don't regret it at all, save for the lack of widescreen report.
In retrospect, how much more could the Wii and PS3 have sold if they were able to keep a steady supply? More so with the Wii, as even before Christmas I was able to spot PS3's still resting on their shelves.

Can you guys please stop comparing specs with other consoles? I dont think it is really going to matter what the numbers are, just the end result. Reading you guys to back and forth like that is just pretty boring . . .

Mar 15th 2006 10:55PM (Joystiq)Yeah, the ps3 release date and the whole issue of compatibility with the revolution and TP have their identical features, but it pretty much stops there. Except for the release date. I think I just saw somewhere today that ps3 is NOT going to sell for less than $475. In comparison, that makes revolution and TP almost an impulse buy.
But IF sony does get that remake of FF7 that people have been buzzing about since last e3, I still dont know anybody who has 500 plus dollars they have laying around the house. But with the potential launch line-up of SSMB, metriod, mario 128, and basically TP? Oh man, I dont really see how revolution can lose, sorry to be overconfident, but I dont really see how. They have that full 20+ years of games they get to deal with, free online play, and such. I just cant wait.
And yeah #6, this year is going to be CRAZY at any store you go to for the Christmas season. Oh boy, better start practicing your bull rush tactics.

Feb 16th 2006 7:09PM (Joystiq)About a week ago, I saw all the rumors flying around, so I went back down there, and they still said it was the 24th. They said something about a street date and since square published the street date, it was set in stone (or something in that sense).
So I guess the real proof is just to ask the guys at a game store. Who woulda thunk of that? go figure
