In the UK those on the minimum wage are usually part time youths (aged 16-25ish), and as they earn more (varying between £3 and £5ish depending on age) they are able to spend more. Traditional economic theory proved to be wrong where minimum wages are concerned, they have ambiguos affects on the economy. As most people on the minimum wage are dependant on parents etc. (ok, im ignoring alot of people, such as part time employed mothers etc.) the money they earn is disposable, and as they are aged between 16-25(a key age cohort which games are marketed at) they are able to spend more on things like games consoles if they earn more. That may partially justify higher prices in the UK, but its still bang out of order that i have to pay more :(. wont be affording one for a few years yet. :'(.
