This game was so awesome back in the day that I went to EB games(or whatever it was called in the 90's and paid a whopping 79.99 for it. Man and people think the cost of games is bad now a days. I still can't believe it cost that much but it was worth it. Great game.

Customer service stories

Jan 5th 2007 7:55PM (Joystiq)
Ok...wow...You guys are all drama queens. I have been in tech support for several years. Let me first explain that for you poor saps who have real problems with your service(DSL/Cable)be prepared to make 10 phone calls about your problem before the service company realizes you don't have a run of the mill issue. Stop...don't fight it...don't try to talk to the tech on the line like a human being(namely because we aren't allowed to talk to you like a human being). Just sit back let the BS roll into your ears while you write down your case/ticket numbers and watch them add up in front of you. Then after you have six to ten tickets then we might consider getting a supervisor involved...no no, don't misunderstand...you won't be speaking to my supervisor, I will just ask them what to do. Depending on the company you may get your problem fixed, you may not(the latter is more likely). You see, 90% of the company's customers are not having a problem, then out of the 10 % that are calling the helpdesk 9.9% are PEBCAC errors(Problem exists between chair and computer). And for you .1% of people that actually have a real issue with the service, well you might as well cancel your service or be ready to invest a solid week of calling the helpdesk.

As was mentioned earlier the majority of American techs know absolutely nothing about PCs and Networking. While the Indian tech's skill is undeterminable because of the language barrier.
While company's do tend to hire on decent techs sometimes they often leave pretty quickly for greener pastures. Not the least of reasons is the attitude of customers towards them.

Just remember if you are extremely nice but extremely persistent on the phone you have a lot better chance of getting your issue resolved.(Notice it is still a slim chance)

Wow, now I understand how you other guys wrote such long posts. You get carried away with this stuff.

2AM: The Wii/PS3 lines form and spots are for sale

Dec 17th 2006 7:07AM (Joystiq)
I just got back from Wii hunting and I am not totally empty handed. My adventure started at target which when I got there at 4AM I was 16th and a guy that worked there said they only had 15 systems. I left there and tried EB which had the same story I was 16 again with only 15 systems. Another target had a line of 50 already. Finally I was ready to give up when I thought of Kmart (Nobody thinks of Kmart), so I showed up there and there was only one lady in line. The place opened at 6 and by that time there was only 7 in line with me at the #2 spot. Unfortunately the manager came out and said they didn't get their shipment. Lucky for me and the lady in front of me she took down the first two people's names and numbers and told us they would call us when the shipment came in and hold our systems for 24 hours. WOO HOO!! That's a lot better than most of the people will be getting today. Good luck to the rest of ya.
