WoW Rookie: How to learn mouse turning

Apr 14th 2011 6:28PM (WoW)
Not to be critical, but it seems like you spent one sentence talking about HOW to mouse turn and the rest of the article talking about why. If you're really aiming it at rookies, you're assuming a lot.

That said, it's all a matter of preference. Like you said, I use Q and E to strafe because that's what I've done for five years. I'm open to change, but I'm very comfortable with my my movement setup. I think the key is, if you don't have big problems moving around and using your spells, you're doing it right.

But also - you can spot a keyboard turner in two seconds if you look for it, and honestly, in my experience, the majority of the keyboard turners I've tanked for in heroics are the ones who have died the most in my PUGs.

The Queue: More like zero class, am I right?

Mar 20th 2011 12:54PM (WoW)
This might be too complex of a question for the Queue, and might vary too much server to server or profession to profession to answer, but in theory, using a mat like ore - which should sell better, the raw mats or bars? The answer might be too different using other mats like cloth, food, etc. but ultimately, which is more valuable - selling a raw material because people might be too lazy/unable to find their own or maybe for a skillup, or using my profession to make a bar because other professions use bars and other blacksmiths might use bars, hence the benefit of the profession?

Maybe I made it too complicated, but I guess the question is - what's more valuable, a raw mat or a processed mat?

Donna Noble was awesome. She was his best mate. And she went from just being a temp from Chiswick to...yeah. I loved her.

The Daily Grind: Are multi-month subscriptions worth it?

Feb 22nd 2011 10:11PM (Massively)
@Araxes

That's dumb to just say "No. They are not." I've subscribed to two MMOs for over three years now and will continue to do so for a while. So for me...yes. They are.

Raid composition and the role gap

Feb 17th 2011 4:31PM (WoW)
No offense, but isn't this more of your problem than their problem? I mean, people want interesting encounters, but then other (and some of the same) people don't like the homogeny of classes (unique/iconic moves/abilities given to other classes), then some other people just think the game's too hard.

I get that you pay your $13 a month or whatever, but maybe you also just can't do a 10 man raid with just any random 10 people playing whatever role they please.

Predicting Battle.net's social future

Feb 10th 2011 10:39PM (WoW)
Ummmm...no. Facebook's average age of user is starting to skew older, and that means the younger generation is going to start to lose interest. I'm surprised at how many of my friends are already either sick of it or just quitting. And the next Facebook will be the biggest social network on the planet, as will the next one, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's dead, but it won't be around forever. Facebook will become MySpace much quicker than you think...and it'll happen before most people even realize.

Encrypted Text: Let's get kicking

Feb 9th 2011 6:22PM (WoW)
I put Kick on key 1. For me, it's the closest to 2, which is what I'm hitting almost always.

WoW Rookie: Know your interrupts

Feb 3rd 2011 3:16PM (WoW)
I was hoping for a chart that would help others to learn about interrupts, how rogues use it, etc. Been interrupting so much more with the new content and forgot how fun it is! But I'm also not used to having to discuss interrupt rotation in a pug, or else we both blow it or don't at the same time.
