Report: Capcom sees 'no distinction' between on-disc and off-disc DLC

Apr 3rd 2012 3:09PM (Joystiq)
Before I begin, let me state that I am an adult with a full-time job. I don't have parents buying my games for me, and I usually do buy games new instead of used. Rarely, if ever, have I pirated a game within the past couple of years.

However, I will not support a product like this that treat paying customers so poorly. Yes, the game without the extra 12 characters still has a nice-sized cast, but the fact that they willingly refused to release content finished before the game was released, only to sell an unlock code later on, disgusts me.

You could argue that Capcom could've had the characters finished and then still not include them on-disc, and it would be the same end result. The difference being that we wouldn't be able to tell that said content was finished before the game was released.

If Capcom wants use such sleazy business tactics to squeeze more money out of their paying customers, so be it. I just won't buy or play their games anymore.

Thankfully, portals disappear if the surface they're placed on moves. God help us all if they didn't.

Skullgirls hits XBLA April 11, PSN release still undetermined

Well, each platform has typical release dates for digital games (PSN on Tuesday, XBL on Wednesday, and Nintendo on Thursday). But, yeah, Microsoft and Sony are ruthless towards each other with releases and exclusive content. It's a shame, really. Whoever wins, we game players lose.

Pretty Cool (guy).

Seriously, though... PCs are what most games are developed on. Devkits are just attached to them, and compiled code are sent from the PC to the devkit (at least, that's been my experience).

And you do know that Joystiq, regardless of its readerbase, is a US-centralized site? If I'm not mistaken, the entire staff is US-based, too (Ludwig used to live in South Africa, but he moved to the States when he became the Editor in Chief.... if memory serves me right). So what happens when you have US bloggers blogging about news from other countries, it's basically "so, uh, yeah, so this thing happened somewhere else! It's cool, but it doesn't really affect us!"

Japan:
Wii: 12.3m
PS3: 8.0m
360: 1.6m

It'll take a while for PS3 to catch up to Wii... if it ever will.
