Kid Icarus: Uprising's 3DS stand holds up to scrutiny

Mar 19th 2012 11:09PM (Joystiq)
@SushiGummy
I've had issues with the older DS systems (Lite and DSi, particularly) with the shoulder buttons going out. Usually due to the contacts getting dirty. Blowing into the shoulder button usually fixed that.

Capcom on the hunt for Street Fighter X Tekken hackers

Mar 19th 2012 10:58PM (Joystiq)
To an extent, I don't mind the Super/Ultimate updates. That's how it was with the older fighters when they added new content. At least then you knew they were developing more content after the original game went gold. Sure, there's better, more consumer-friendly ways for this (hey, did you know that Valve updates their PC games FOR FREE? It's true!), it certainly isn't a TERRIBLE way of doing things.

However, to ship the game with Disc-Locked Content, and then to make a totally BS excuse for it, I find that offensive and unacceptable. If they just came out and said "it's because we wanted more than $60 for the game", I would almost respect them for being honest. Almost.

I'll only be getting SFxT once it's bargain-binned (around $10-20), or maybe the Vita version (if/when I get a Vita), or maybe a 3DS version (if they made it). Aside from that, the only things I'd even consider buying from Capcom are:
-Megaman Universe and MegaMan Legends 3 if they're revived.
-Ace Attorney Investigations 2 if they do finally localize it.
-Ace Atttorney 5.

Aside from that... Capcom's pretty much dead to me, and they were once my favorite publisher.

Can I make a Pac-Man maid?

El Shaddai: Smash Brothers.

Rumor: Shenmue 1 and 2 HD finished, hitting XBLA/PSN

Mar 17th 2012 3:49PM (Joystiq)
I don't care that I have the Dreamcast version of 1 and the Xbox version of 2, I will buy these if it's true. I want to give Shenmue more of my money.

Ayane whomps Hitomi in this new DOA5 trailer

Mar 16th 2012 1:32PM (Joystiq)
Maybe it's just me, but I'm really not seeing a huge difference in terms of sexual or violent themes compared to previous DOA games, even the 3DS' DOA:D. That fight looked pretty brutal (especially with getting slammed against the construction site and ground); like something no actual human could survive.
And the girls still look like busty anime females to me...

Game Gear emulation outclasses the other 3DS Virtual Console games

@Levi
I have a Nomad. You thought Game Gear was a battery sucker? Try a portable Genesis!

... Still, I loved it. :)

Game Gear emulation outclasses the other 3DS Virtual Console games

@LittleMofreaky
I grew up with both a Game Boy and a Game Gear. The Game Gear had a few nice games, but the hardware itself was lackluster. Terrible screen, terrible battery life, and quite bulky... But such is the technology of the time. I'm sure that if the Game Gear were made today, it would have been significantly better.

And, heck, I even bought a Game Gear game in the past couple of years: Megaman. :)

Jet Set Radio HD retains US-version content, half of original track list

Mar 13th 2012 8:01PM (Joystiq)
Hmmm.... I wonder if the PC version could be modded to add back in the lost tracks in an unofficial manner.
