Very yes. There's been a lot of entries defending the iPad, I've yet to see one being critical of it (though maybe I'm just not looking hard enough).
I don't have a problem with opinions, like you say, but that's not how this article reads.
It's not "here are some common misconceptions about the iPad and why I personally think they're wrong", it's "here are the opinions of _another person_ and why they're wrong".
TUAW shouldn't be an Apple cheerleader and should have the balls to come out and say "Hey, the iPad looks cool, but Apple's really dropped the ball on a few features", not defending it against every single complaint. I want objective comment, not "OMGZ APPLE ROOLZ".
