Former Nintendo VP Denise Kaigler joins 38 Studios

Apr 27th 2010 11:39AM (Joystiq)
Appears that a lot of gaming talent has been heading to 38 Studios lately. It's going to be interesting to see what they're planning. Maybe I'll have to move back to Boston now.

Latest Split/Second trailer blows up buildings, gigantic boats

Is it me or have I seen the same footage of this game nearly a dozen times, just remixed with different claims? Burnout FTW.

E3 2009: Protesters go after EA's Dante's Inferno outside convention center

Talked to EA PR already, they didn't do it.

New Nintendo hardware coming when the company finds a 'very interesting idea'

Interesting new idea for Nintendo....a hard drive.

Wii games unlikely to be patched with MotionPlus support

Apr 15th 2009 11:02AM (Joystiq)
I asked the question because there wasn't much of a reason to release the Wii MotionPlus in the first place. While Sega's Virtua Tennis 2009 is nice, it won't make the $20 MotionPlus accessories disappear. But if Nintendo offered a patch for Wii Sports, even older folks would drop the money for one without thinking. Ultimately, those same saps would buy Wii Sports Resort two months later and then Nintendo would have made more money. Sounded like a pretty smart idea at the time.

Confession: I Suck at Guitar Hero III

Jul 23rd 2007 11:55AM (old GameDaily blog)
"Why were you with redoctane. i think your a dirty liar. neversoft is doing guitar hero III"

True. Neversoft is doing the software. RedOctane still owns the Guitar Hero license and RO is still producing the software. Harmonix created the software for GH I & II, with RO producing.

Confusing, right?

Gauging E3's Rebirth

Jul 6th 2007 10:58AM (old GameDaily blog)
I'll agree. It was ass copy, written quickly. So I fixed it. "Run-On Sentence Crusher" wins for best use of an insult without swearing. Suzanne wins for funniest link to lingo48. Other than that, there were few new comments to add to my book of professional insults. Thanks all.

Rumored PSP 1.1: Smaller, Brighter, Smarter and Faster

Jun 12th 2007 9:09AM (old GameDaily blog)
I'm not too keen on the T-Mobile thing either but Sony really does have an agreement with them so it will probably end up there. This would not be an NGAGE though. PSP offers 3D gaming with a big library of games, movies and now downloads. NGAGE offered overpriced 2D games that even four year olds couldn't appreciate.

Only good thing about T-Mobile is that you could unlock it and bring it over to AT&T.

Warning! Don't Move that Xbox 360 -- Game Ruined!

Jan 25th 2007 4:32PM (old GameDaily blog)
Yeah, I feel stupid. I had my work Xbox 360 and never had an issue... but I also never moved it. The second after I did it, I had that bad feeling. Strangely, the game's been out for a while and still hovers around the $29.99 level. You'd figure that it would have got to the 19.99 platinum level.

I guess that means more Rainbow Six: Vegas for a few days.

Thanks for the comments confirming I'm an idiot. :)

GameSpot editor-in-chief resigns, now a developer

Jan 4th 2007 9:46AM (Joystiq)
I worked with Greg for years at GameSpot and wish him the best. He's truly one of the best minds in gaming and reviewed with an attention to detail that one doesn't find on most sites. While this is a major loss for GameSpot, his personable nature, his passion for quality games, and a healthy sense of sardonic humor will leave a positive mark on future game development. Best of luck.
