My complaint would be that the new Grand Cherokee and Explorer - both larger vehicles than this, both get 17/24 to this thing's 15/20. The engine is incredibly inefficient by today's standards (we're talking 4.6 in the last-gen Mustang's inefficient).

I hate how companies like Nissan and Ford can let the Xterra and Ranger die on the vine like this. It can't be *that* difficult to adapt a more efficient engine in the engine bay, and the economies of scale that would be helped by doing so would make it more than cost effective for them, not to mention probably sell more vehicles.
