$99 Xbox Live Gold Family plan available this November

Jun 22nd 2010 11:41AM (Joystiq)
@FOI

Well you do get what you pay for. I've got all those "free" online plans too. None of them even begin to match the experience I get with the $0.14 a day I pay for XBL.

ESRB rates Limbo for PS3 and PC

May 28th 2010 10:36AM (Joystiq)
Does it strike anyone else odd that a post about the ESRB rating a game doesn't actually mention the rating?

Joyswag: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

My first Pop game was the original on PC.

I'd like the new one on 360!

PSA: Mass Effect 2's Zaeed DLC now available

When I imported my ME1 character yesterday it never prompted me for my ME1 game disc.

Chicago Transit Authority can't ban game ads, judge rules

Jan 8th 2010 12:36PM (Joystiq)
@Sonos,
Communism and socialism is entirely constructed around the idea that people are so stupid that they require intelligent beraucrats to tell them how to live. Therefore creating laws around the idea that they are too stupid to think for themselves is by very definition communistic.

Mass Effect 2 supernova deal on Amazon.uk

Jan 5th 2010 4:10PM (Joystiq Xbox)
In the US Amazon does have release date delivery, however that is not included with standard shipping (release date delivery is however free for Prime members). They also do pre-order price matching automaticly. I got $10 refunded automaticly off my Beatles Rock Band order a couple of days after it shipped!

Also it looks like right now Amazon is offering a $10 video game credit with the purchase of Mass Effect 2.

Assassin's Creed II DLC was cut from main game due to time constraints

Dec 22nd 2009 12:46PM (Joystiq)
I spent nearly 20 hours playing this game and didn't hardly touch all the side quests that are available. No one can argue they didn't get thier moneys worth from this game.

Epic (Mickey) trade: Disney swaps Al Michaels for Oswald

Oct 16th 2009 10:08AM (Joystiq)
I think it would be a mistake to say that the entire value of the character Oswald is around this game. There is the historic value that it was Walt Disney's first featured character, I have to think that owning that history would be invaluable to the house that Walt built.

Peripheral Vision: Rocketfish Rapid Fire PS3 Controller

Sep 23rd 2009 6:00PM (Joystiq)
I would love a PS3 controller designed like the 360 controller. The PS3 triggers are just awkward and uncomfortable in my hands. The 360 controller is a nice natural fit and most of the time I forget it is there.

However I'm not sure how practical this is as designers build games around the layout of the PS3 controller.

Zune HD gaming apps feature interstitial ads

Sep 19th 2009 7:46PM (Joystiq)
This is the most overrated tech story in some time. It keeps popping up everywhere and I can't fathom what the fuss is all about. I could see the point if the games were being sold and then contained these advertisements. But ad-supported software is nothing new. In fact isn't it somewhat hypoccritical for a AD SUPPORTED BLOG to condemn MS for publishing AD SUPPORTED games?

Also your story is misleading. It gives the impression that all games ever on the Zune will have these Ads. There has been no such announcment or any reason to believe every game you ever download will force you to watch Ads.

Joystiq, I love you guys, this website consumes more time of my day then any other. But I'm disappointed the story in this form made it past the editors.
