In many ways Battlefield 3 may very well be an awesome game that lots of people buy and play, but MW3 will be king. Regardless, it's all subjective. Some people feel Battlefield: BC2 is better than MW2 and Black Ops. However, more people prefer MW2 and Black Ops.

Despite your anti Treyarch sentiments, they have done a tremendous amount with the franchise and the record breaking success of Black Ops has put them in the driver's seat.

It's a complete joke to compare COD to Madden and Guitar Hero. First of all, Guitar Hero was very much a novelty that maybe lasted a couple years then took a complete dive. Madden is also seeing a decrease every year now in sales. Call of Duty continues to be a force and had subsequent entertainment record breaking launches. There's no sign of slowdown. As a developer/publisher why would you not continue to milk it?

Yep, just all the Map Pack boycotters. Funny how they sold millions despite the cries about the new price point.

Apparently I'm one of the few people that upvoted your comment. I completely agree. It's an unbelievable value. Ridiculous that people are actually bitching about an additional .82 cents per month when they've not had a price increase in 8 years.

Still an unbelievable value in my opinion. I've been an Xbox Live subscriber since day 1.

We should have expected this at some point and we should be thankful it's only going up about .82 cents more per month.

This is an absolutely incredible game for those that have never played it. I've beat it at least a couple times on PC and completed all the challenge/bonus levels.

I just wish a true sequel would come out!

I don't mean the "gameplay" as we know it, I'm referring to ever changing things like new maps, weapons, vehicles, etc. for monthly subscriptions. There's no way we'd have the game, just as we play it today, but requiring a monthly fee. There needs to be value there.

This is certainly coming at some point in the future to a Call of Duty/Modern Warfare game. I think Activision has thrown out enough hints about their desire to do so. I don't know the number today, but in December 2008, 11.5 million people were paying $14.95 a month to play World of Warcraft. There's no reason millions won't pay to play COD.

With that in mind, accept it or move on. Stop your bitching and your boycotting threats. It certainly didn't affect the map pack sales.

I love the series and as much as it would suck to pay to play, count me in. I can also assure you that a pay to play version will be an ever changing experience, like that of WoW. Don't just assume you're going to have the same ol' gameplay.

I tried the demo, but it was horrible, in my opinion. I'll stick with MW2.
