It's-a Mario World: Underrated Foes

Aug 8th 2008 12:13PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
It's actually called "Coin Purse." That's its name.

And I think there are a LOT of other interesting baddies in Super Mario 64... There are some crazy things in there... like the Hurler... the Killer Books... and that stupid Koopa Toy, that would come up to you in Wet-Dry World and toss you up to a higher ledge (or to a lower ledge.... or wherever) whether you wanted to or not. And oh how difficult it was to control where those things flung you too even when you intended to be "flung."

E308: A whole lotta list -- upcoming Wii games and release dates

No Zelda?! AHHH!!! Come on already! I want to hear what the next Zelda game is! I'm dyin'!

Sakurai: 'I had a lot more characters' in Brawl

Jul 3rd 2008 12:01AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I personally think Rayman and/or a Raving Rabbid would have been AWESOME! Or what about Tails, Eggman (Robotnik), Wolf-Link/Midna, Banjo/Kazooie, Wizpig (lol), any Mortal Kombat character, Pac-Man, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Lara Croft...

Konami wants music peripherals to be universally compatible

Jun 26th 2008 1:30PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Yeah... I would be buying Rock Band for the Wii if 1. the Wii version wasn't deformed, losing DLC... and 2. If I knew that when Guitar Hero World Tour came I wouldn't have to buy ANOTHER stupid drum set. So, no thank you. I'll be fine without Rock Band.

Rock Revolution, on the other hand, does not interest me AT ALL. That Drum set looks so stupid, and all over the place to me for one... but for another... it is just retarded for someone to have to own 6 guitars, 3 mics, and 3 drum sets just to be able to fully play Guitar Hero World Tour, Rock Band, and Rock Revolution... not to mention if someone already OWNS 2 guitars for Guitar Hero III, and wants to buy the new one for Word Tour... Then that would be a grand total of 8 guitars.
I'm sorry, but I think it's difficult enough for me to find space for 2 guitars... I can't even begin to think of where I'd store 3 drum kits, and 4 more guitars.
(Not to mention what a HUGE waste of money it is to buy all these extra peripherals. Hell, I'd rather play with the Wiimote than buy so many guitars.)

Wii Warm Up: Smash 'achievements'

Mar 22nd 2008 1:21PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I've so far only used one Golden Hammer... and it was on the Stage Builder parts that you unlock after making 15 stages... I think that's a little ridiculous... But then something else weird is that I have so far built 6 stages, but I haven't unlocked the first stage builder parts that you should unlock once you make 5! Is it because you need to save the levels to the Wii, and not an SD card? 'Cause I've been saving them to SD the whole time... But I've tried transferring them over to the Wii, to see if that'll unlock it... but alas, it does not!
Has anyone else had this problem?

Wii Warm Up: One band hero

Mar 8th 2008 12:01PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Yeah, it's a pretty tough question for me because I'm a HUGE fan of Aerosmith, and I think they're great for an entire Guitar Hero game all to themselves... They just have so much variety...
I don't know how I'd feel about another band though...
I suppose I'd like a Zeppelin game... or an ACDC game... or maybe a KISS game... But I wouldn't be excited about any of these titles... like: "yes! OMG, I can't wait!" but I'd get them anyway, and probably enjoy them.
But with Aerosmith, I'm actually more excited for the game than I am for Super Smash Bros. Brawl... and that's saying a lot... but I am a huge Aerosmith fan...

Good music possible in Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

Mar 4th 2008 2:43AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Yeah, I totally agree... this article is a little too critical on the #1 best selling band in rock history... and with the number of hits they've had and songs to top the rock charts... It's a little silly to me that the opinion is stated in such a way that makes it seem everyone agrees... Also, Aerosmith has SOOOO much variety! What other band can go from "Walk This Way" to "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" to "Love In An Elevator" to "Pink" to "Cryin'" to "Mama Kin" to "Dream On," and still hit some harder rock songs like "Crash," "Light Inside," and "Nine Lives...." It think this band is WAY more incredible and note-worthy than this article gives it credit for...

Wii Warm Up: People all over the world, start a hype train

Feb 24th 2008 4:01PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Definitely Super Smash Bros. Brawl... but I think that's a given... And I'm also super excited for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Mario Kart Wii sounds good... and whatever the next Zelda game is... (which I WISH they'd announce already!!!)

Aerosmith and Guitar Hero come together, leave us cryin'

Feb 15th 2008 8:40PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Best...
News...
EVER!!!!!!!!
This is sooooooo incredible! I was actually thinking the other day... (I just recently got obsessed with Guitar Hero)... that there really should be more Aerosmith in it... but I couldn't think of the best song... there's just SOOOO many! I mean "Love In An Elevator," "Cryin'," "Jaded," "Pink," "Janie's Got A Gun," "Walk This Way," "Sweet Emotion," "Ain't That A Bitch," "Amazing," "Dream On," "Angel," "Dude Looks Like A Lady," "Crazy," "I Don't Want to Miss A Thing," "Fly Away From Here," "Hole In My Sole...." God, I could go on FOREVER!!! And that's just the popular ones! There are so many amazing songs of theirs that would go soooo well on Guitar Hero, that I really do believe the deserve their own game...
And I was thinking that the other day... Never did I believe that it would come true... OH HAPPY DAY INDEED!

Graphs point out Wii's immaturity

Dec 2nd 2007 11:22AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I think it would be very interesting to see graphs of game review scores... Like the percentage of games that were rated in the top %10, then the next %10... and the next %10 and so on....
Of course, different review sites have different scores, so I guess it would only work if you just choose one review site and stick to it...
But it would be interesting to see which system has had the highest scored games as far as reviews go... Because ratings obviously don't mean anything to game quality...
