Are comparison videos biased or just misunderstood? [Update 2]
Jan 16th 2008 6:09PM (Joystiq Playstation)They dont have to adjust black/contrast/white levels but at least use the damn HDMI cable and a 1080p tv, if not then you are seriously gimping not only the PS3 versions of games but some of the 360s as well.....

Oct 18th 2006 6:38PM (Joystiq)Jigga Man makes his way to NBA Live 07
Oct 6th 2006 1:48AM (Joystiq)so dotn speak on things u seem to know little to nothing about please.
and umm..hiphop has been a part of NBA games since NBA live 95...and even b4 that with the nba jam series...so why all the fuss now..???..it goes all th eway back the street ballin days and up to now with and-1...hipop and street ball have always influenced each other...and eventually hiphop found its way to th eleague through the players who came up playing street ball in our urban cities.
also dont forget jay owns a minority share of the NJ nets...which by 2010-ish will be the brooklyn nets...so jay is apart of the b-ball.
Being worth a lot of money and owning shit DOES NOT make you good. Heck by your logic Bill Gates can become the greatest rapper ever if he entered the genre.
Also i do know a bit about hip hop. I personally DO NOT like Jay Z's style and CANNOT figure out why people (like you) worship this guy. There are far better hip hop artists than him ( not 50 cent btw) in terms of lyrics and delivery. His lyrics are DECENT at best and his delivery IMO just plain sucks, especially if you compare him to artists like Del Tron, Common, Eminem, Tupac, Biggie, etc.. thats not including Outkast, Jurrasic Five, Hieroglyphics, and countless others. SUre Jay Z owns half of Def Jam, he also backstabbed Damon Dash doing it( btw Damon Dash helped on Tupac's All Eyez on Me album)
Square Enix commits to no one! Or is it everyone?
Sep 26th 2006 6:13PM (Joystiq)And this is the reason why i dislike the MS brand. No risk=no respect. MS is not risking anything because they have BILLIONARE gates backing them up. Sony and Nintendo DO have something to lose and i respect that more than MS.
Now i DONT want to see MS out of the console race, that would be just blind fanboyism, BUT out of those three companies i'd rather NOT see MS in the number one spot. Hate me all you want but just remember this: MS is the company that MAKES and SHOVES things down consumers' throats. Blu-ray driving you nuts? it doesnt bother me none because of this simple fact: Vista. Yup we (PC-users) in 1-3 years time will be FORCED to upgrade to Vista. Xbox's shelf life was less than 4 years i believe?

Sep 26th 2006 3:08PM (Joystiq)It seems you are trying to justify purchasing a PS3. The end of exclusives doesn't hurt the industry like you claim. First party titles will remain exclusive and I for one will be glad that other titles will be spread out."
im not trying justify my purchase or my plans to purchase a ps3. No doubt about it im getting me my PS3 along with my Wii. Yes i do believe losing exclusivity can and will hurt the industry because it just shows the customer that the developers is just after a quick buck. Also it shows EVERYONE including yourself that no matter which system you buy all the same games are gonna be on it, whether you own a PS3 or Wii or 360. BUT thats good you say!! heres why its bad: When a developer codes a game for multiplatform that code is what i like to call a 'mainstreamed code', meaning its NOT OPTIMIZED for ANY ONE platform. So your $250, $700(after HDDVD) or $600 dollar investment is NOT BEING FULLY utilized AT ALL. Developers are not optimizing their code for YOUR purchase, your console of choice(because not all of us can afford all the systems).
Now if this is to be the case of the generation to come, then i should just buy a Wii, its cheaper, and no please dont tell me graphics matter to you because if you agree with wanting no exclusivity then you dont care about optimized code which means you really dont care about graphics.
Anyways i hope this all makes some kind of sense. im just trying to point out that exclusivity is a good thing. I like all the systems but if developers are just going to put their games on all the systems i would rather then have one system, that is fully utilized and optimized rather than having the quick cash in games that im afraid might be the wave of the future

Sep 26th 2006 2:46PM (Joystiq)And this is what will hurt the industry. I believe exclusives are the ONLY way for developers develope anything worthwhile BECAUSE of the risks and costs involved they will tend try their 'best' when it comes to exclusivity, but when we have multi-platform releases what we get are watered down games that are built just to save a penny(although sports games tend to be the exception)
Most of the gaming greats are exclusive(Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Final Fantasy(some), Killzone, Gran Torismo, Devil May Cry, Dragon Quest ack Halo,etc..) there have been some exceptions like Splinter Cell, and Metal Gear Solid( SoL was exclusive for awhile but eventually found its way to the xbox and gc, dont see why MGS4 will be any different) but for the most part gaming greats only come in exclusivity! I for one will be very depressed to see games that are exclusive for my brother's 360 come onto my new PS3 and vice versa.
Some of you may argue that "its all about the games, who cares what system, at least this way we ALL get the same games" if that is going to be the case they why have THREE systems at ALL!! That would make owning a particular system rather pointless. Because WE ALL KNOW FOR A FACT that if Sony and Microsoft relied on their 'first party' games then NINTENDO will demolish the floor with Sony and MS. The new ranking would be like this: 1. Nintendo 2. Sony 3. MS, yes MS has really FEW VERY FEW if any first party development games that are noteworthy.
/end rant

Sep 12th 2006 8:31AM (Joystiq)Whats funny is how in your previous paragraph your saying how 'Japan doesnt matter" then proceed to say that these people are somehow important and guess what?? they are Japanese. Guess what will happen if you treat these guys like 'they dont matter'? All aboard the PS3 train is what will happen, which at this point i can already see Mistwalker and friends buying their train tickets
