Not absolutely necessary, though. A careful hand as the truck approached its tipping point may have kept it from going all the way over. If you notice, the operator gives the line a final jerk just as the truck is about to come over.

Okay, okay, so the whole idea for the Cygnet is goofy. I'll be the first to admit it.

These are remarkable numbers. For an AWFUL lot of households, there's a compelling business model (¤65 a month to lease a battery? That TOTALLY works if you don't have to worry about replacing it!). I never would have believed that RENAULT, of all companies, would produce the the best value proposition for a real EV.

The last full model year for the Metropolitan was 1962. There were a few hundred built for 1963 (less than 400) and that was the end of the line.

I swear, I wouldn't care, except that my Mom actually wound up owning one of of the rare '63s, and it was one of many vehicles I learned to drive manual in (&^#$@ 3-on-the-tree!)

...I can't help but wonder if the new Civic would have been on this list had it been released a few months earlier...
