Alan i do believe you are misinterpreting this. As the quote says "but it won't make much of a difference if parents aren't turning off the television set and putting away the video games and making sure that our children are doing their homework."

When i first read this page here, i couldn't believe it, but then i went and read the quote. He isn't talking bad about video games at all, nor tv. Just putting into perspective what should come first. As a college student who has grown up on games his whole life, movies, as well as politics, i have always had a voice for the power they have to teach, create better skills for learning, as well as better hand eye and other skills that can lead to outside videogames (zombie outbreak, I know what to do).

Games have a great influence. I feel I solve problems at work and in school better because of this. But without going to lectures, without doing homework in science, I wouldn't be anywhere. Would you say the same thing if he was talking about people going out to work? Or to feed their kids? Or getting better exercise? No, because its necessary. Sometimes there is a reason to drop the wireless controller, and pick up a book and get your math work done.

This article is misleading and SHOULD be changed.
