Blue!

When do you play video games?

Nov 3rd 2006 7:18PM (Joystiq)
I dual-boot my work-supplied MacBook Pro to Windows during my lunch hour... it handled Oblivion and Titan Quest like a champ, and now it's helping me devour Dark Messiah of Might & Magic.

PSP while travelling or in the restroom...

... and games on the home PC after the wife has gone to bed. She's a second-grade teacher and has to get up about an hour earlier than me.

So I get in just enough gaming to be satisfied, but not enough that I'm ever out of games to play, or burnt out. Works nicely, actually.

Joystiq poll: Do you replay completed games?

Oct 6th 2006 3:17PM (Joystiq)
Generally, the games I replay have a very compelling story, insanely fun gameplay with a short completion time, or huge choices to be made in terms of character development or storyline.

Baldur's Gate 2 - Endless party customization. You haven't lived till you've played a Kensai kit dual-wielding magic katanas.

KOTOR - light side & dark side. Actually played this directly back-to-back, I loved it so much.

Jedi Academy - who doesn't love lightsaber combat?

Call of Duty - crazy fun, intense, not too long.

Medal of Honor - same as Call of Duty, although CoD is better.

Half-Life 2 - duh.

Thinking about playing through FarCry again as a super-sneaky dude instead of blowing everyone to hell.

Microsoft will cripple PCs running pirated copies of Vista

"nezromatron: Obviously you never had to authorize a copy of XP over the phone because the internet authentication failed.. Nothing like sitting there on a Sunday reading off a 50-digit key to someone that can't speak english while they read you back another 50-digit key.."

As an IT professional and former small business tech consultant, I have had to authorize many copies of XP (and even Windows Server 2003) over the phone. The process is completely automated and computerized, you can say it or punch it in, and it takes about 5 minutes tops.

Radiohead - Let Down

The most beautiful song ever written. I get chills every single time I hear it, and I must have heard it about 500 times already.
