Gameplay doesn't have to be stellar to make the game fun/good. Look at turn-based RPGs, where the combat isn't the fun part, but exploration/customization is. If you theory was true, the Final Fantasy series (and most other JRPGs) would never have become popular. Heck, look at WOW. The game itself is a chore, but its fun 'cause you get to do stuff with friends, get loot, etc.

This is news because: 1. Criterion previously said they were unable to get G n' R's permission to use "Paradise City," and 2. The Soundtrack is actually decent, especially considering how crappy EA Trax can be. But this list isn't too bad (plus Airbourne really deserves some US exposure, best Aussie rock since Jet).

Ah, I love the smell of baseless condemnation in the afternoon. Just wait until we actually get our hands on a decent build of the game before all the "it teh Halo 2.5, it's grafics suxxor" starts. Halo 3 will be fine, it will look beautiful, and people will still complain. I'm pleased on how it looks now, and knowing the Bungie guys, it'll turn out better beyond my expectations. No worries here.

Never ceases to amaze me what lengths government officials will go to mess with people's lives. Well, there is a bright side, I guess, since Halo and Gears of War are not really in any danger, according to their guidelines.

Hmm, pretty sure 1992 looked nothing like this. If this was 1992, all games would start with the word "Super" regardless whether they were super or not.

This is part of a general Nintendo fanboy problem. Like Luke Smith (from 1UP) says, Nintendo fanboys are sheep and if they see something that's not Mario, or Zelda, or whatnot, they doubt it. Sure Nintendo does not have stellar 3rd party support like it once did, but Nintendo fanboys and the NDF (Nintendo Defense Force(s)) are not helping at all.
