The New York Times examines Dwarf Fortress

Jul 24th 2011 10:08PM (Joystiq)
I really hope that whoever wrote this is being sarcastic, and that a writer for a major gaming blog isn't really so out-of-touch with the medium that they're covering that they've never heard of Dwarf Fortress.

Sonic Generations screens visit the Chemical Plant Zone

Jul 20th 2011 3:23PM (Joystiq)
@MarkShark: They ARE Stardust Speedway! Joystiq just failed to note this.

Granted, only the one boss fight is on Stardust Speedway, it's not a full level like Chemical Plant.

Sonic Generations screens visit the Chemical Plant Zone

@Prax

This game has exactly one level from Sonic 2. The rest are all from other games. Also: half the game plays like Sonic Unleashed/Sonic Colors.

PlayStation Vita launches globally by end of 2011, starting at $249

If this is true, wow. Nintendo better deliver hard for the 3DS, and soon.

WWDC 2011 unlikely to launch hardware, iPhone 5 may be later this year

Mar 29th 2011 6:35PM (TUAW.com)
Putting it out on AT&T alone would be spitting in the face of Verizon customers. They had to wait four hardware generations to get an iPhone at all; Apple's not stupid enough to treat them as second-class citizens now. Expect AT&T and Verizon models to be simultaneously in the future.

WWDC 2011 unlikely to launch hardware, iPhone 5 may be later this year

Makes perfect sense to me. The iPhone 4 just launched a month ago on Verizon; launching a new model less than six months later would be a sure-fire way to piss off customers. I'd expect the next iPhone to be announced with the new iPods in September, to give the Verizon iPhone time to cool.

Sonic Colors review: A bolt from the blue

Nov 10th 2010 5:05PM (Joystiq)
@Gaddes: GameTrailers's review is the lowest one I've seen. IGN gave it an 8.5, Nintendo Power a 9, etc.

Sega 'looking to improve Sonic strategy,' reducing supply of older Sonic games

Oct 12th 2010 5:59PM (Joystiq)
When you consider this news alongside the release of Sonic 4 and the pending arrival of Sonic Colors (which looks to be the best thing to happen to 3D Sonic in... ever), it's becoming obvious that Sega has finally decided to put some serious effort into making Sonic worth something again.

Official: iPhone 4 jailbreak hits from iPhone Dev Team (updated with video)

Aug 1st 2010 6:47PM (Engadget)
@jack112006 Actually, the first few jailbreaks (back in the OS 1.0-1.1.x days) were done through the browser, too. It was good times. Props to the Dev Team and Comex for finding a way to bring it back.
