US consumers purchase $55 million worth of 3D TVs and Blu-ray players, despite the glasses

Jun 25th 2010 7:30AM (Engadget)
This statistic is just silly. If the average cost of purchasing the TV, Blu Ray Player, and corresponding 3D Glasses is $3000, then consumers bought a whopping 18,333 sets. That is barely worth talking about. You need to pay attention to how many units were sold, not how many $$ were spent, to determine how well they are selling.

Canon's EOS-1D Mark IV gets unboxed, high ISO modes tested

The ISO 65535 you are showing is actually ISO 102,400, just like Nikon's highest. These must be from a pre-production model, which displayed the ISO incorrectly. You may want to correct the article to indicate this.

The 360 version of The Darkness is better than the PS3 version because with the 360 you will get to feel everything with rumble and you get achievements.

GameStop pulls out creative stops to move PS3s

This is definitely not a hoax. My local Gamestop had a similar hand-written sign up in the front window as well (it is located in a mall). To be honest it makes me nervous. Not for sony, but for my hobby, which is hardcore gaming. If people simply flock to the Wii, then gaming as I know it my cease to exist sooner rather than later.

The better matchmaking method, Gears or Halo?

Nov 14th 2006 7:29AM (Joystiq Xbox)
"halo matchmaking allowed to much cheating... which ruined the game"

You obivously haven't played a lot of Gears of War online yet, because cheating is rampant in this game too. There will always be cheaters. I definitely prefer the Halo matchmaking system. It makes it super easy for my friends and I to challenge another team, which for us is what playing online is all about.
