Metareview -- Far Cry 2

Even the safe houses have ammo once you've upgraded them (it's outside, but sometimes you can get some inside, like health).

Borders Books testing game sales in London

True, I've only ever seen one in the UK and that was in Leeds. It's not like W.H Smith which you can find in any town or city.

FIFA Street 3 demo now on Xbox Live

Jives, I'm not a massive fan of football either but I hate this stereotypical assumption that nothing happens in football. I also bet the author knows nothing about football culture and all the violence it creates. I bet he wouldn't be making pathetic jokes about 'tea dollies' then.

I don't have much respect for writers who are writing for a worldwide audience but still have stereotypical assumptions. If you know nothing about the subject then you really shouldn't be writing about it.

Right, so soccer is boring is it? This is coming from a guy in a country that's mad on a game where play stops every few minutes.

Or maybe it's boring because the US is absolutely crap at it?

Deaftly, so we only play one sport elsewhere in the world? Right, seriously, how are you even alive? Scientists would love to study a person who can live without a brain!

Joystiq, get someone who actually likes football (because that's what it's called, not soccer) to post about football games from now on. Let this idiot stick to other stuff.

How can it relate to the casual audience when they're targeting it at people with high-end machines? The casual audience don't have high-end machines!

The Political Game: The Battle of Britain

@Crono.

Maybe you should do some research before stating that the UK should join the EU because, last time I checked, we WERE in the EU.

China is fast becoming a superpower so, you know, good luck with staying at the top for long.

'Point is, fast forward 200 years, we're the worlds only superpower, and your country is a small collection of islands in the frozen north of Europe.'

Yup, and that small collection of islands once ruled most of the known world. Our Empire days are long over but you can't deny that British influence is what helped create the world today (regardless of whether or not it's screwed).

I'd like to point out that the majority of CCTV cameras are privately owned so your flawed logic that the 'government is watching our every move' doesn't hold much substance.

CCTV cam's set-up by local councils go in city centres and areas of high crime. It's not like I can walk out of the door and see a CCTV camera watching me from the end of the street because that just doesn't happen unless you live in an area that's been plagued by trouble for years.

If a camera stops another innocent kid being stabbed to death (or at least catches the killer) then I'm all for them.

Rumor Control: Shanda's anti-gender-bending MMO policy

Sep 25th 2007 3:29PM (Joystiq)
I just found this article (http://www.virtualworldsnews.com/2007/07/shanda-expandin.html) about Shanda acquiring Aurora Technology back in July. The article states that Aurora Technology currently operates two virtual worlds (Feng Yun Online and Legend Online) none of which are the reported King of the World. In fact, a search for King of the World brings up no conclusive evidence that the game even exists - all the results are based on this recent news. Also of note is the fact Shanda's English website makes no mention of the game whatsoever.

I think there may be a strong possibility that this news is fake.

Mercenaries 2 designer explains delay

Sep 24th 2007 9:12PM (Joystiq)
"to make gamers proud that they own a copy of Mercenaries 2 by making the highest quality next-gen open-world experience the world has ever seen."

That's a pretty strong statement to make. If the game turns out to be lame then everyone will wonder just what they did with the time they gained from announcing a delay.

I'm pretty confident myself as I loved the first Mercenaries.

April Fool's Alert #6: Chinese WoW players hunt real Chinese people

Shouldn't the original idea be attributed to this guy?

GameSetWatch just blogged it.
