GameTap makeover imminent, Mac no longer supported

Mar 4th 2009 8:25AM (Joystiq)
Mac user here. I was just about to sign up for a full year this week. I've been enjoying the service on both the Windows (Vista) and Mac side. But having no access at all on the Mac side has changed my mind. The support was weak enough, but it was good enough for my $60 for a year of service. Glad I found out now though.

Microsoft's NXE storage solution: Free 512MB memory card or $20 for 20GB HDD

The Arcade unit is eligible. I just bought one last week. I have not attached a hard drive to it.

I put my numbers in and boom, there was the option for the $30 HDD and Live.

I was going to wait for the $99 60GB with 3 months of Live, but $30 for a 20GB and 3 months of Live I couldn't pass it up.

Master Chief, because he's pretty bad ass.

Wii component cables online now, in stores Dec 5 [update 2]

This isn't about 480p, its really about the best picture quality. I don't know about you guys, but S-Video/Composite sure looks ugly to me after getting used to Component on my Cube and 360. Maybe I'm just too picky (my TV before last HAD to have S-Video or I wouldn't buy it), but I expect the best quality connection I can get.

No, no, you got it all wrong. We need some kind of music game, only you use your own music instead of whatever the developers provide.

Oh and as far as VC pricing goes: what did you expect them to sell them for? $1, $3, and $5? No way. You could have looked at the cell market and see that they charge you $7 for a 5 level game. $10 might seem steep, but with games like Mario 64 and Zelda:Oot they look better. Same with the SNES and NES. True there are tons of NES games that aren't worth it, but I think $5 is a fair price for LoZ, Kirby's Adventure and Super Mario Bros. 3.

I'm just trying to look on the bright side, but maybe the controllers are expensive to make. Maybe that's why the system is $250 instead of $200 and why they're $60 a pop.

And seriously, why the hell would you seperate them like that? That's asking for confusion right there. Mainstream people don't like confusion.

Cellda: cell phone, not cel-shaded, Zelda

Um, make that the dpad on the left and buttons on the right like a normal controller.

Just tried it on my N-Gage QD. Works pretty damn good...14fps with sound. My device is "only" Midp1 but the game is totally playable and even though I imagine its running slow it doesn't effect the game, it feels like a good speed. Anyway, slow or not, playing it with a dpad on the right with the buttons on the left is nice.

Storm your shops! DS Lite street date broken [update 2]

Just another confirmation. The Target in Cape Girardeau, MO has them in stock. Just came back from picking one up and New Super Mario Bros. Been waiting since my girlfriend broke the top screen on my original DS way back in January. This thing is nice, very nice.
