It doesn't matter if the PS3 is doing better than the xbox 360 launch. Sony needs the PS3 to be as popular as the PS2. Having it sell as well as the xbox 360 (Which I don't think is very likely) would be a huge blow to sony and their bottom line.

The money to make the PS3s has already been spent, and more is being spent every day. So instead of losing 300 dollars they are losing 800 dollars if they are just sitting on the store shelves. A 300 dollar loss is better than not selling anything and having a bunch of expensive invetory doing nothing.

There are 7 wifi hotspots that my computer can pick up in my apartment alone. I guess I'm in for a quick death.
Seriously though, why does this crap keep coming up? There is no proof at all that this is true.

Maybe Nintendo shouldn't cover this, but when something cracks under normal use after a few weeks it is hardly a non issue and makes me worry about the long term durabiltiy of hinge.
