Venezuelan lawmakers wary of Mercenaries 2, suspect US government agenda

"35. That´s why American people have a bad name."

Wait are you saying we have bad names because people stereo type and catagorize what americans think by the few who speak their opinions because it is their american right to do so???

I hope that is not what you are saying. I think it more likely we have a bad name more because of our goverment and not so much because of the opinions of people here.

And also, there are lies, damn lies, and statistics, that is it's hard to understand what the normal american thinks, even by looking at the elected politicians. I honestly feel that america doesn't have enough choices in politicians for the politicans to be proper representations of it's people. It also may be that being a politician may not be an attractive enough job to interest the right people for the job. The choices for the president are strongly controlled by the 2 party system.

In terms of boot time, there is always standby and hibernating (which I do often with my laptop). It's faster then restarting the operating system. Standby drains battery (keeping ram powered) but is more instant, hibernating just dumps the ram to disk and then just loads it back in when you power it on again (more ram the slower the save/load time). Both are way faster then a complete shutdown/restart. And stability is not that much of a problem, once in a while with my laptop I have to do a full restart, but usually I hibernate.

I don't know if the UX supports this but the OQO, is nice that you can dock it and it becomes a regular desktop computer (minus higher performance of high end desktops), so you can use the little screen when you are doing things on the go and a larger screen when you are at home or work.

I consider these convergence devices, rather then having several different devices for different purposes with your data scattered across them, you have a single device that does just about everything you need and holds most if not all your data.

IMO the icon size should be fine. If you look at other PDAs or even the nintendo DS (Animal Crossing comes to mind :)). Although for that size, it looks like stylus only touching, the UMPC finger stuff would probably be way to sloppy.

On the other hand Mac applications may port better to stylus interface, they use one mouse buttons right?

Gameboy Emulator for your iPod?

"A single emulated instruction typically takes around 5 instructions, causing the emulated machine to be 5x slower than the processor running it." Your comparing apples and oranges. Some processors can do 1 instruction in a number of clocks and some can do a number of instructions per clock, some processors require several instructions to accomplish the same thing that another processor can do in 1 instruction! So what I am saying is, it depends! :)
