Dragon Age 2 abducted from Steam, EA points finger at 'restrictive' terms of service as the culprit

Jul 28th 2011 5:40PM (Joystiq)
@ZTZ

Yet, the other download services seem to have no problem with allowing BioWare to distribute DLC via an in-game store.

Seems to me like Valve/Steam is the one being unreasonable and rigid, expecting publishers to have one set of rules for them, and another for everyone else.

Dragon Age 2 abducted from Steam, EA points finger at 'restrictive' terms of service as the culprit

Funny to me how every other digital delivery service works just fine with EA's in-game DLC delivery system, Steam demands some special proprietary delivery system, and yet it is, of course, somehow EA's fault that Steam won't support their in-game DLC delivery system (at least in the eyes of the rabid EA haters.)

@Mika101

Someone doesn't know enough about the X Men to be familiar with Havok. Just be glad they didn't use the old school hood.

Senator Yee: SCOTUS ruling puts corporate America ahead of 'our children' [update: full statement]

Jun 27th 2011 4:37PM (Joystiq)
@Aerothorn

What bothers me is the smug misinformed attitude of Yee and his supporters. No matter where his heart is (and I doubt it's in the right place, unless that right place is creating a non-controversy to court a specific group of voters), his statements insinuate that the industry wasn't already self regulating and rating games appropriately.

Sega warns users of recent 'Sega Pass' hack

@Destati

Yeah. I had skills I wanted to practice and couldn't yet as a youngster too.

But other than going through an abundance of hand cream, practicing those skills didn't hurt anything (or anyone else).

This is like saying it was okay for neighborhood hooligans to steal bicycles because they couldn't legally use their skills to be big time cat burglars yet. What they are doing is illegal. They are breaking into other people's info and stealing it. It's no different that breaking and entering into someone's home and nicking their family silver.

What do you hope to gain from hacking something like Minecraft? Where is the statement in that?
