iBooks 1.1 doesn't deliver what Apple promises

Definitely agree about the flipping/swiping thing. Pointless nitpicking.

However, much to my dismay, its true about the PDF highlighting. I have a couple of PDF books in my iBooks library and I was unable to bring up the dictionary/highlight/note/search options.

Just to be sure I was doing it right, I switched back over to Winnie The Pooh and used the same method and highlighting worked fine.

Maybe there are some PDFs that work and others that don't? or maybe Chris didnt actually try this himself.

And the newest cast member of SNL is ...

Aug 21st 2008 12:14PM (AOL TV)
Ladies and gentleman: The most predictable and tired blog comment about SNL ever! Brought to you by Derek this time around!

Honestly, to everyone else reading this:

We are aware that people dont think that SNL is funny. That is OK. There are definitely some sketches that are duds, but there are also gems.

The fact remains that the show averaged a 15 share last year. That's a little better than 50 people. That's around 14 million or so.

Now that the world's most hackneyed complaint of SNL has been dealt with, on to the real news:

I've seen this guy perform with the UCB Theater as it was touring around the country. He absolutely stood out from the rest of the cast and was both charismatic and cleverly funny.

I think he'll make a great addition to the cast and will probably surpass Casey Wilson in popularity right off the bat.

Well said, Scott. You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned R.W. burning up all his audience goodwill. Like a lot of people, I used to really enjoy his comedic work..Then I started to realize that appearance after appearance after appearance was the exact same schtick involving tired impression of a gay guy, followed by a dated impression of a black guy, followed by a beaten-to-death impression of an Indian guy. I still enjoy when he does dramatic roles though... His performance in Good Will Hunting was pretty fantastic..

(On a side note: I did get to meet the guy once.. I sold him a Nintendo 64 at the FAO Schwarz in San Francisco when they first came out, back in 96 or so. He was extremely cool and fun to help)
