I have talked with Scott Forstall at many WWDC events. The guy is wicked-smart and friendly.

Bugs on a Beta OS that isn't public yet? How is that news again?
The 'bugs' listed aren't newsworthy at all regardless of NDA.

Poll: Who's gonna keynote?

I agree with pika2000.

Scott Forstall is both extremely knowledgeable and charismatic. That to me shows dedication and has my respect as a result.

OS 10.6: PowerPC officially left behind

Jun 11th 2009 12:45AM (TUAW.com)
http://www.apple.com/ca/macpro/performance.html

It's not like the Quad G5 is that far behind. Just happens to fall on the other side of PPC/Intel transition. Would it be cool for Apple to offer a one time discount for Quad G5 owners. Hell yea, but that was 2005 almost 5 years ago now. And thats a good run for any desktop.

iLife '09 begins move to Intel-only mainstream software from Apple

Feb 4th 2009 8:25PM (TUAW.com)
• Up leo isn't slower at all on my Quad. [@ Vandil]
• I am not super excited about 10.6 not being PPC [It's not released yet so who knows if I'll be racing in to get a new Mac Pro or just hohum] Depends on the enclosure I guess.
• I was down that Garage Band music lessons weren't PPC, but from the looks of them it's all memorization and not actually music lessons. You Tube has that for um.... free. [Not the same quality nor paid actors...er I mean artists]
• When I got my Quad I knew it might be the last PPC. That didn't stop me. Almost three years to the day the machine is still a tank. Runs better then most of my friends iMacs. [HD video editing and Aperture] 12GB of Ram might have something to do with that.

All and all I think it's Leo and Alex L. from twit that call it the Apple Tax your gonna pay it every three to five years if you want to stay current so just accept it. The alternative Windows 7.

Oh and before you get uppity at me for 'blindly' supporting apple's guaranteed advanced obsolescence plan keep in mind come 10.6 my Quad will still do everything it's doing today. And with more stability then it's Intel counter part. So suck it up princess.

Digital Camera RAW Compatibility 2.4 update released

Dec 19th 2008 1:36AM (TUAW.com)
It's not just updating Aperture. It's updating a system level process. In this
case core image.

This way application developers don't have to issue new updates to support new RAW files. The core image API takes care of it.

And who knows, maybe other things as well.

Supposed First Five Minutes of 'Saw IV' Leaked Online

Aug 11th 2007 8:49PM (Cinematical)
Almost the same footage that they showed at ComicCon just longer. Nice to see a better version online.

Keep SAW dark boys. Don't dig the bright setting, but I'll leave judgment until I see the film.

[----RANT TO THE SAW IV CREW FROM A FAN----]

NC - 17 version release it at the same time as an R cut. Call em different films if you have to, put them in small indy theaters, just get an NC-17 version out there. Don't wait for the DVD cuse you guys always piss me off while listening to the Commentary you talk about it being an unrated version and then you say well we had to cut all the close ups on this scene and this got left out cuse the MPAA and we cut this...
[---end rant--]
