GRAW 2 producer: don't play Gears for more than ten minutes

Dec 18th 2006 1:34PM (Joystiq)
Personally, GRAW was the first team based game I could stand, and grow to love. Before GRAW, every Tom Clancy game was tedious and I found it to be boring. GRAW was a breath of fresh air and gave me a new respect for squad based combat. I *LOVED* the single player.

The multiplayer however, was poor compared to Counter Strike; a game much older. I mean I had spent many enjoyable hours ducking and covering behind objects, only to have my enjoyment sucked out of me by GRAW's multiplayer. I realised: "So that's what they meant by gameplay experience may change during onine play."

Gears of War's single player experience is brief, but enjoyable. It leaves the player's wanting more. The defining moment is that great gameplay translates perfectly to the multiplayer experience. I will most definitely purchase GRAW 2 for it's single player mode and only hope that multiplayer can match it's own great single player experience.

Dead Rising makes 360s dead? [update 1]

Aug 15th 2006 9:23PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Last week, my Xbox 360 I purchased in January failed. I was playing SFII:HFE while downloading the Dead Rising Demo. It finished and I *finally* beat it and preceded to start up the DR demo. I would get to the point where Frank is about to clobber the blonde with the fire extinguisher and BOOM! Lockup! My machine only froze once since I had it; while playing DOA. I tried reconnecting everything and repositioning the system and the power brick to no avail. I finally gave up and the next day replaced my system with the protection plan I had bought (I knew I was going to need it). I also purchased another 2-yr plan. ^_- My new system is working great with the retail release of dead rising and things are working great. I have no complaints; I just wanted to share my story. I am a *VERY* satisfied with this console.

In case you were wondering about import demos...

Alright, would one of you more informed individuals please explain to me why region coding is a good thing?

The only way I see it as valid is when a company is releasing a *BIG* title and they are staggering launch dates for some reason or another.

The demo you've been waiting for: Jewel Quest!

meh. It was okay, but NOT worth *800* points. I will save them for when Street Fighter 2 is released.
