Crysis 2 review: More than just a suit

Mar 22nd 2011 4:16PM (Joystiq)
One would think they would have supplied you with a computer good enough to play the first one higher than medium...at the time 1k would have gotten you very high @ 25 fps from newegg.

At 219 mph, the Brabus iBusiness 2.0 is the world's fastest Apple-obsessed office

True, but I don't think an iPad or a mac mini cut it as a studio workstation.

Crysis 2 can run on a $600 PC

The 550 got decent reviews-its performance wasn't too great in some games but at $150 it had a lot to offer. I wonder how it fared in SLI...

@BoBsS

Gonna have to agree, as much as I had a "in your face 360 fanboys" attitude, I did wonder why they left the 360 out.

My guess is it has to do with the openness of the playstation network compared to xbox live. From the articles I have read, developers have been rather unsatisfied with microsoft, as things like publishing updates for games costs a lot for the devs, and they also have to stick to all of microsofts rules regarding things like matchmaking. Compare that to the playstation network, where whether than develop a solid matchmaking system, sony sat back and had a "do whatever you want, its your game attitude", which often times is a negative point when most games only have low quality pc-style server lists, but other times is a huge pro because it allows the openness to integrate with other things and come up with cool ideas.

Look at what konami did on mgs4. They integrated your konami account and psn account when playing that game. It totally sucked and it was annoying how much crap you had to register just to play but it showed what companies could do.

CryEngine 3 GDC tech demo is all kinds of futuristic

@ANeM

Clearly you didn't play around with the Sandbox editor in Crysis. In Crysis 1 I was able to do all the cool lighting stuff the tech demos showed with just an 8800gt and 3GHz Phenom 2.

How being fat and old is the newest threat to auto safety

Mar 3rd 2011 12:37AM (Autoblog)
I'm a runner. All of my friends are runners. We all range from 5'10 to 6'4" and around 180lbs max. Sometimes I forget there is an obesity problem in this country. Everyone is so obsessed with sports and fitness and being a twig these days that I question where all the fat people are.
